Are you sure about this information? What fools are they to put the wrong silencer into a bike? You would have felt a slight difference in the way the engine behaved with the silencers if that were the case? Surely the 220 is more roary than a 200, but I thought that was because of the bigger displacement.

25% power increase with free flow? I would expect about 3-4% outright power and some more torque.

Dude go for the R15's I'm pretty impressed by this tyre. If you don't a smaller tyre the zapper vyde looks pretty decent.

But with just the r15 rear tyre the bike gets a lot more flickable and the bike is a lot more confident in corners.

Thing is MRF guys claim that it lasts 8000 kms only. So you could go for this tyre run 8000 kms. By then the ninja should be out. Buy those tires then.

14k life is pretty bad for a clutch plates man. Been doing too many burnouts and wheelies I suppose? With 25k on my odo, there's still quite a bit of life left.

        • I completed 10,000kms. on my blue Pulsar 200 very recently. The machine is stock (I don't quite like modifications, anyway ). It has performed marvelously during this period. No problems whatsoever faced up until now. Just regular servicing and she's running like butter!

At the 10k service, the air-filter, front fork shocker oil and the two spark plugs were changed apart from the regular engine oil change ofcourse. The mileage has been a constant 50-52km/litre, with a drop of about 5-6 km/litre with some spirited riding, at times.

P.S: Just wanted to confirm the speeds that the P-200 does in top gear at about 6,000 RPMs. My P200 is doing 85km/hr. @6000 RPMs, in 5th gear. Is that okay? Just little curious, that's all.

hows this possible...5th gear @6000 rpm doing 85??
            mine does 80..even I've seen many 200s doing 80 at 6000rpm.
            at 5th gear:
            54kmph @ 4000rpm
            67-68kmph@5000rpm
            80kmph @6000rpm
            its all about CC...

That's precisely why I asked, since I had my doubts.

My P-200 does the following, at 5th gear:

              57-58km/hr. @4000 RPMs
              70km/hr. @5000 RPMs
              85km/hr. @6000 RPMs.

              I have no idea what's wrong/ right!

              • Aryan does your bike have white tacho or a black one.
                The black ones do 80 @ 6000RPM.
The white ones do more speeds @ same RPM dunno why
Maybe they introduced some speedo error in the white tacho ones.
I have seen a guy doing 144 on youtube, he also does 0-100 in 10 seconds.

that dint even sound like a k&N ...it was a bone stock bike man! no free flow as well..

the only reason can be a super sprocket modd...

I just got a 200 engine block piston under my 180ug3's head....yes the torque has increased..

                  • ^^@cssk- Dude do you guys seriously believe that the 200 in the vid does 144kmph? As a P200 owner i know better than to trust anything on the whole console, as for the revs the guy launches the bike at 6000 rpm therefore the bike is revving a lot nearer to the red-line, try it on your 200 it'll do the same thing too, it's got nothing to do with the gear ratios or anything, the only thing i'm amazed at is how he managed to take that vid

                    • ^^ He does a 0-100kmph in 10sec... 0-130kmph in some 22sec..... is that possible?? seems like something is modded in this bike... coz the acceleration is extremely high for a stock P200.

Hes using a helmet mounted cam.

                      • ^^ Very simple......................it is'nt (possible) , AFAIK it should have mods as extensive as Joel's Drag Fiero to do stuff like that

Or could be a digi-meter mod..... thats easy and better without meddling with the engine...

I strongly believe he has put 220 sprockets or bajaj themselves have put 220 sprockets on 200 (ones which have white tacho), maybe they have improved the engine and exhaust a bit without making it public or quite simply they have introduced speedo error.

I am talking about gear ratios because, you can only hit ~111KPH @ 10000RPM in 4th gear, whereas he is able to hit 120.
I have only managed a top speed of 128 till now
Now tell me how launching in 6K will help you to do more speed at a given RPM, his taller gearing is helping him to do it, thats my point.

                            Video very well taken indeed.
In the second video if you notice carefully he is slipstreaming another bike, probably a 220. He comes out of the slipstream, goes back again and finally does 144.

Yes, it is from the newer lot, with the white tachometer, and I also believe that there has been some speedo error being "introduced" by Bajaj!

Check your rear sprocket size, if its 38 teeth then we can conclude that they have introduced speedo error, because with 38 teeth i know the true speeds and corresponding RPMs.

If it has 37 teeths then the bike indeed can do such topspeeds

BTW what is the top speed you have hit till now? (and the RPM if you remember)
