It might have been putting a considerable load on the pistons and the valves, but is it possible for a free-flow to generate so much heat as to damage the valves?? As far as i could remember the bike has an extensively designed down pipe to keep the back-pressure as controlled as possible to prevent re-entry of exhaust to the chamber creating any heating issues due to the spent charge

My experience with the highly recommended AUTOservice, banagalore.
After high recommendations from a lot of windows, I decided to give AS a try. Located 30kms away from my house. I left home at 7:45am to reach AS at 8.30am. Obviously the first 200 to reach the place. I was received by one mech (not sure if I must use names.. will decide against it) who took my bike for a test ride even before asking me what i had come there for. OK, acceptable. Maybe thats what they do to all 200s/220s they see in their service station's vicinity. He comes back and asks me for my service booklet. I start telling him some minor nags i had. He gladly "listens" and nods and sends my bike in to "wait" for it's wash. Time on my watch 8.45am. I sit there, looking at one of the guys, who is supposed to be washing bikes, sitting on my bike with his damn foot on my silencer and rubbing my mirrors against a wall... I keep staring at him for over 20mins.. He just continues. I get up and blow my head off.... He had scratched my right mirror and left a nice black rubber mark on my silencer. They finally got moving after that and he managed to remove the black mark from my silencer. The damage on my mirror wasn't major. So I shrugged it off. Time after bike is washed and kept in the Sun is 9.30am. Not another 200/220 in sight. No bike on the bench. No mechanic in sight. he is busy fixing small odd jobs on 180s. Customers who came much later than i did were attended to before me and their issues were resolved while my "first" customer's 200 awaited in the sun. I was losing it. I finally got this mech to put my bike on the bench. Time 10.30am. He drains the oil from my bike and does a hoodini. Vanishes, since he was attending to another 180 outside. Gosh ridiculous. Finally at 11am he gets working on my bike. Cleans my rear brake shoes, adjusts brakes, greases my cluctch cable near the lever and puts in fresh oil. Here is another thing i noticed. They dont have (or do not use) a damn measuring beaker to put in oil. He emptied a litre can oil and then for the remaining 200ml he takes an old ELF oil can (if i remember correctly) which has calibration on the side to measure!! How un-proffesional! He is running all over the service station looking for tools. Pretty shabby! Time 11.45am.
I had told him the following issues i wanted sorted.
1. Needed my rear brake lever and gear lever lowered since it was positioned uncomfortably high.
He adjusts it and says he will adjust it again if required. Fine by me!
2. Adjust my headlight beam.
Not addressed. Reason - he had forgotten that i had told him this in the morning. They do not have a practise of jotting down complaints!
3. Adjust my shocks.
says he won't do it since it comes from the factory with that setting!!! Now come on man! How lame is this place!!
4. I had a jerking issue if you guys remember.
Forgotten to address again!
HE pushes my bike out and takes it for a spin and leaves it to the 3M bike detailing guy! Now i notice a nice scratch on my bike! Point it out to my busy mech.. who asks the 3M guy to rub it off!! Which is done but I am irritated as hell! It's been over 4 hours since i came here!
Once it is done I ask him to adjust my shocks and he calls some other mech, who seemed to be a senior mech. and guess what, same lame reason of it being the setting from the company!! Lame!
I get a feed back form where i write most of what i felt. No backup call. Nothing!
Have any of you felt that AS is over-rated? or was it a one off case? over 4 hours to service one bike? It's not that i am used to bikes getting serviced in minutes. But what i saw was major lethargy. I felt like i was in a government office trying to get a personalised treatment. Highly disappointed!
I am not riding that far again. Khivraj does a much much better job! Thats where I am going henceforth!
really sad to see a "model service station" treating it's customer's this way. Pretty dissapointed!
That is very sad to hear Kapil. You are not the only one loosing faith in AutoService. Praful (PrafulTripathy) a 220 owner also had encountered problems in their servicing. Extremely sad to hear this.
Had gone there after hearing so much about them. Strange!
This was my second service. Had a decent experience with Khivraj when i went there for my first service and a small handlebar issue. Both were sorted pretty well and really quickly. The thing i missed here is that they didn't seem to have a good process in place. Or in simpler words were a mess! Dis-organised. Atleast Khivraj seems well set, equipped. Maybe it is too early to comment on the expertise of Khivraj based on my experience with them. But AS has disappointed me!
^^ U can check it out @ KRP's website.. though 4.5bhp would be too much, but as some1 mentioned here.. the Engine life would be @ risk.. (correct me if am wrong)

I would also like to know as what would happen to the engine due to a free-flow exhaust

Am not sure of that.. that's y I Mentioned "correct me if am wrong".. btw extracting 4 bhp more out of the stock engine, kinda put some doubt in installing the after-market exhaust. Anyways, if it works fine, then I would like to go for it.. 5k for that extra torque is a good deal.

Well AFAIK Zeyk told me that the end-cans on the P200's as well as ZMA's were very restrictive, and were done so only to conform to the emission standards, and the bikes were capable of much more on a proper setup in the form of an end-can

Hmmmm....Need to find out how does a free flow exhaust works? Anyone got any references for that. Also maybe someone's already got these cans and can tell us about them. Would surely love to go for it for a bhp increase. Lets see further developments.....
BHP increase!!!!
1 question..(assuming- no mods to the engine)
guys how can increase air flow do anything to the BHP figure of the engine???!! unless you change the gearing ratio or bore the engine or for that matter get an oversized piston, the BHP fig of the engine cannot be changed.THe only thing thats gonna increase is the torque figure.
BTw KRP is so damn expensive, is the freee-flow chamber really calcualted for the required torque output?? or is a normal dabba can with a bend pipe more than enu f for that torque induction????

the main reason for it being restrictive is due to the cat con.Ditch that and u mite get some more punch.
