    • Hey guys,

I am new to X bhp, but not to the forum world, was an active member on bcmtouring. Well, here's my story... had a uni previosly which was stolen.. ...

Now got a second hand P200...
20 K run.. 2007 model.. looks good and feels good.. well tried to rip it off...
      Top speed: 125 till date..

There is a considerable difference I noticed between uni and P200... they have there own pros and cons..

For Uni only one word... REFINED SUPER SMOOTH ENGINE...

For P200.. nice power (can just twist the wrist and see it go...), good pickup, impressed with low vibes from engine, lots of gadgets to play with, and yeah... the looks.. which are great.

Overall I am satisfied with the new.. or say old purchase.

A bit afraid about the stickers... 200 and pulsar on tank and at sides.. they looks like anyone can just rip them off...

      Any suggestions for them??

Thinking of changing the rear tyre, which looks a bit dated... any good options guys?

Saw IRC's and stock MRF's at Rs 1800 and 2000 respectively..

does it misfire before makin the sound? the misfiring "phat" sound may not be heard at such high revs() or sometimes the sound may not come at all.
Also does it emit smoke when ur accelerating(rich mixture) or when u close the throttle(very lean mixture)?

                      • 6500km Ride Report

Hey guys, my Pulsar 200 purchased in June 2009 has clocked a little over 6500KM. Just thought I would share the ride report here!

Engine is really smooth! I strictly followed the running-in method posted here on Xbhp for 2000kms. But believe me, it was really frustrating at times to stick to those limits! But I always told myself, that a powerful beast will be waiting for me at the end of that road, so just be careful till then!

I had changed to Motul 300v at about 2700kms and have been using it ever since. Have not changed since then obviously as 300v is good for 5000kms. Thankfully, I have not faced the issue of the oil leaking like some Pulsar owners have after using this oil specifically!

The gears are like butter! Till date I have never had any issues like gears slipping or false neutrals! One reason is the engine oil; as soon as it was put in at 2700kms, I could instantly feel the difference in the engine and in shifts! Another reason being, I regularly use Motul Chain Cleaner and Motul Chain Lube.

I have not modified the bike for performance in any way, unless you count NGK Iridium spark plugs with their claims of an increase in performance. I don't know whether they improved performance or mileage, but they did reduce cold start problems! The spark plugs, along with perfect carburettor tuning, ensures that my bike always starts at the 1st push itself of the button! Auto-choke has never kicked in till date (does it even work on all these Pulsars?!) but I have never felt the need for it. No matter the weather, once I start it, it just sits and growls with the same tone through out!

I get between 35 and 45kms mileage per litre. The figures keep varying due to different riding styles. Although the different riding styles are all me, as I don't allow anyone else to ride my bike. But sometimes I like to rip, other times I like to just cruise along in a relaxed manner. I fill BP Speed fuel exclusively. I used to fill Speed 97, but some people advised against it. Another reason was that although the engine was smoother with Speed 97, it did not pickup as fast as with normal fuel. It was not a huge difference, but I could definitely feel the loss in pickup due to Speed 97.

I also polish the bike every 2 weeks using Formula 1 wax. Because of this, my bike still looks like new! Many people at parking lots and traffic lights have asked me whether this is a new bike!

I have touched a top speed of 122kms! Though I don't know how it is doing it, as the rated top speed of this bike is 130kms with a rider weighing 65kgs...and I weigh over 100!!

Thats about it, hope you all enjoyed that!

nice report ter ..nice to know ur babe is performing flawlessly .

.imo and atleast on my bike (purchased on may 2009) dosent have an auto choke..or for that matter ..even new 180 ug 4s don have a auto choke...its all manual operated thers a small sought of nob near the carb wich when pulled out activates the choke

my bike also almost done wit 10k kms ..gears have become a little hard ..clutch a lil heavy ...well time for the service i guess ..hopefully all the small niggles will be sorted after that ..!!

but one damn thing on my bike...is the faring vibrates like crazy its driving me insane ..tried every thing ..tightning nuts and screws ...double side sticker... nothing seems to work
