Yes, you were right. That Damn! thing is made of rubber. I pulled it out heard the sound of the bike. And then just putted it back in the place.

    Thanks.

IMO, everything kept on the bike is for a reason.. I guess the air intake tunnel is for avoiding intake of polluted air.. so your air filter doesn't have to work very hard and more importantly you don't want that air to go inside your combustion chamber forming Air and fuel mixture.

The tunnel ensures that you get air from the the lower portion of seat and not directly from near the air filter.. since the possibility of polluted air is more when the air is coming from near the air filter (just in front of rear tyre).

So, in short, I would not fiddle with it just in order to get better sound.

sorry to say buddy but this change will surely ruin your bike because that rubber pipe connects carburatter to air filter and if it is removed engine will breath air more than it need and effect your air fuel mixture and most important the dust particles will get a free flow path so i will suggest dont do it instead u can use K'N free flow filters and adjust fuel air mixture by rejjeting the jets in carburater and then u will get better sound and performance too.....

        • ^^ That flap thing is to protect the air filter from rain water seepage and decrease the air filter sound. Nothing else.

I liked the sound, but the only thing annoyed me was that I didnot ride my bike above 3K RPM in city. And 80% of the riding is in city and on the highway there is no one to hear the sound of the bike, it's me and the ride.

Go to Lamington road just opposite Minerva, you will find 2-3 tyre shops (famous is Metro Tyre).

thanks bro... also, just to be on the safer side, i asked a lot of MRF shops for 220's soft compound tyres but all of them say that there's only one kind of tyre for 200 and 220.. nothin separate as soft and hard compound...
so wat other alternatives would u guys suggest in soft compound? i do not want to change my tyre size so i m looking only for 120/80 17" profile..
lastly, do you know the current sale price of vyde just so i dont get ripped off..
