    yah it sounds good...

about the magnum coil i've installed, acceleration and torque is improved!

but i've test it last night for topspeed... here's some data, bit confused...

    Stock coils - 9,000RPM @ 121kph
    Magnum coils(faster to attain RPM) - 9,000RPM @ 113kph

i'm confused on the data. supposed to be if you gain the same RPM Reading then you'll attain the same speed. why is it that here it's not the same but has the same RPM. I'm still using the same sprocket combination.

bros, maybe you have infos about why is this data like this?

    • How to troubleshoot poor braking ?

      Hi everyone,

I've been riding a P200 for about 3 months, it's my first bike and I'm very proud and happy with it

These days I've been a bit concerned with the braking. I'm using stock brakes, did not change anything there, but I have the feeling the braking is not as efficient as it used to be, specially for the rear brake.

Could you please help me troubleshoot it, and maybe give me tips on what to investigate to better understand what's happening ?

here's what I think i should do but I might not know how:

      1. Front brake: check the brake fluid level: how do I do that on a Pulsar 200 ?
      2. Front brake: check if brake pads are worn out : I don't think it can happen after only 1400km can it ? Plus my average riding speed is 65km..
      3. Rear brake: there is this screw at the back to tighten the brake cable (Is that right?): what do we tighten exactly by unscrewing-screwing it ? How to I evaluate the right tightness of the cable ? Is it true that the rear brake pedal should have a moving range of about 25-30 mm ?
      4. Rear brake: would it be possible that using tires cleaning products can affect the braking ? I've been using some black tire polish stuff on the tire's rubber, does it affect the braking ?
      5. Anything else I should check ?

Sorry for all these newbies questions - I could just go to a bike shop and have them look at it, but I figured I need to understand my bike more or else I'll always be dependent on a repair shop..

        Hi O'Ren,
Well Braking is a Known Issue with our babies.....but only the Rear ones.
The Front are the best for that matter. There are some mandate things we need to follow for maintaining them. For the Rears, u can clean up the drums and brake shoes regularly say every 1000kms (thats wat i do). Dusts tend to form in the drum making the operation less effective. For me Brake shoes lasts only 10K kms,but anyways i have changed 'em earlier on couple occassions.
For the Front disc Brakes- U can have check on oil level, the lever play.
Disc pads changed at every 10K kms (I do). I have done the Disc Caliper overhauling once- The caliper is opened, pistons changed and cleaned for dusts and pebbles that gets stuck.
Change the Disc brake Hose pipe, pistons, dust seal in 2 years.
As for discs do the pumping action for first few kms when taken for ride.....
        Cheers, happy biking!!!!

        • Many thanks Suresh for the reply ! I ride on city roads, well maintained (and sometimes probably cleaner than the vehicules on them :P) so I don't suppose there's anything messing with the pads, but since it's been more than 1000 km, I will check anyway.

I understand the rear brake is not that impressive on the P200, and I realize the bike has a front weight that's quite demanding for the forking and braking. But I used to get more "bite" from the rear brakes just a few weeks ago and now it's like they slide instead of biting. (excuse my poor metaphors..)

Anyone having additional ideas an comments please feel free to share with me !

When the drum brake liners are new they bite nicely, however in very little time they become quite "slippery" or ineffective. This bike needs only the front brakes for most situations as the rear ones are mostly useless.

            • Mechanic In Gurgaon For Pulsar 200

              Hi guys,
I am having Problems with my 2 year old Pulsar 200 there are so many vibrations coming in from the handle even at low speed and even the handle wobles around the speed of 65-75(Got the cone set already changed still no go). I had a crash and though the service center guys claim that they have changed everything (Handle Bar,Upper and lower T, Lamp Shades) but still the handle seems to be tilted to the right and the bike seems to dip towards the left. Also the fairing is making a lot of noise.
The hadling also is not as good as it used to be.

The guys at Probiking gurgaon have not been able to solve my issues and they even dont acknowledge something is wrong (I guess because they claim having changed the parts which i doubt).

Please suggest me a good and Competent Mechanic In gurgaon ot nearby who can solve my Problems.

              Please help guys.

Also I was wondering if it would be good to go for a whole front assembly change with that of current 180.

Please Suggest... Your advices are highly appreciated.

Front Fork alignment is what I can think is the culprit here?

                          Hi Absoluthavoc,
It is claimed 300V has drain period of 5000kms.
But i change at 2500~3000kms, coz i run City+Highway extensively.
I do flat 320kms flat in a day like four times a month and the motul 300V does not sustain that. So u can presume accordingly.
                          Cheers!

Anyone changed their front brake cable ? Which one did you go for ? Does it improve the brake's performance to change it to maybe a better cable ? Are there any specifications I need to respect when I choose another brake cable ?
