It is claimed 300V has drain period of 5000kms.
But i change at 2500~3000kms, coz i run City+Highway extensively.
I do flat 320kms flat in a day like four times a month and the motul 300V does not sustain that. So u can presume accordingly.
      Cheers!
cool.. but in fact most guys say the MOTUL lasts pretty long for around 8k intervals. Your distance is pretty good too so well i think 5k is a good change.

I only ride in the city that has brief daily runs on the highway (WE Highway from Andheri to Bandra) and the rest is regular city traffic.

I just completed a service check on my bike after completing 12446km (last check was at 7500km) and was surprised cos my mechanic who's really good (and the only guy i trust at the Service Centre for the bike) said i shouldnt change it for another 2000 km since the oil still looked good after he checked it.

That would make the change interval for me approx 7k km on the 300v

nevertheless, the oil is simply awesome and i have no complaints at all

guys, how do you prevent water to seep inside the petrol tank?
is there a device or modification so that water wont seep inside and mix with gasoline?

          • Hi,

Anyone here put a double brake disc in the front of their P200 ? What disc did you use, did you have to change parts other than the disc itself ?

How about rear discs, what are the other options besides fitting a P220 rear disc into a P200, are there any parts or models of disc brake that are more fitted for Pulsar. Or if I was to install a rear disc, what are the parts that I would need to change ?

            Thanks !

All I can say is get your bike a good water proof cover. I cannot think of any mods arround the tank cap I also do the same when it rained cats and dogs here this year (thankfull!!)

The first thing I do is to take the bike to the service center at the very first occurence. The guys there are quite good and mostly if no parts change is required, then the tweaks are done for free.

That's the first thing I'm planning to do when I get my bike back after repairs. I personally know a very good mechanic in Delhi who's a specialist in brakes. I'm thinking of going for 260mm Petal Disk up front and 230mm Petal disk up rear.

For both the wheels gonna go under mods and for the rear, the swing-arm also needs to be modified.

we have a nice looking bike. covering the tank part with a plastic bag looks so lame. thats what i do when it rains.

Thanks csajal for your answer, I didn't know those disc were called petal, and I searched here on the forum for an explanation on what's the difference between plain and petal disc.
I found out that if you replace a normal disc with a petal one, you need to be careful that :"The mounting holes should match, also the thickness of the discs, and the petals should not touch the topside of the brake caliper from the inside"

So are you going for dual disc in the front and one in the rear or one for each wheel ?
Could you please find out from your mechanic more details on what needs to be done to the P200 to fit a rear disc ? I live in Singapore and I've never seen a Pulsar here with a rear disc, and the official bajaj reseller shop have never done such modification before, so I'm a bit on my own here..

What swing arm are you planning to use for the rear wheel ? When you say the wheels are going under mod, what is there to do for the front wheel ?
And last but not least, what brand of petal disc and caliper are you going to use ? Are you changing the disc brake cable and hose too ?

Get a proper bike cover from a bike store... anyways long hours of slashing of rain water is not advisable as it can damage the paint and even start coroding metal parts. So, anyways, covering is essential. And if the cover is of good quality, it would automatically take care of the water seeping into the gas tank. Else try to find a dry shelter!! There is not direct fix for the gas cap as the gas cap is designed very specific to the lid!!

I would use a protective sticker, a piece large enough to cover the tank cover and have enough left to stick on the tank around. If transparent, it shouldn't alter the look of the tank, you should be the only one noticing. Now the problem with this is when you have to refill your tank, You'll probably have to change the sticker - in this case, maybe you want to get those industrial sticker films, doesn't have to be extra particular, just to stick well, and to be resistant enough to endure rain.

Now another solution is using a tank bag or strapping something on the tank - but if there's no use for the luggage, I guess the protective piece of transparent sticker should do the trick.

                      • guys.. finally got my MRF vyde after 2.5 months of pursuing the MRF guys.. didnt want to buy it frm Metro Tyres at 3000 !!
collected it frm MRF's saki naka office and paid a cool 1900 bucks!! traded the old tyre at a shop for 600 bucks.. cudnt hv asked for a better deal..
just wanted to share my review :
the tyre looks smaller than the stock zapper but is more rounder in profile.. there is a noticeable improvement in the grip right frm leaning the bike during wider turns to stopping.. wud definitely recommend it as a nice upgrade from the stocks.. downside : havent tested it yet in heavy rains so dunno about the "off-beat" tread on the tyre..
guess i cud do better with a soft compound front tyre as well.. anyone has a good option for a soft compound fron tyre??

its the MRF office. they didnt do the fitment or anything.. i had to take it to a garage and get it fitted for 50 bucks..

from what i have come to know, VYDE is a speciality tyre so it cannot be "officially" sold at any MRF dealer. In Mumbai, GUARDEX Dealers at Chembur is the only authorized MRF dealer to sell such speciality tyres.. and obviously, they too dont have it in stock..
i dont know the reason but MRF is not too keen on mass producing the speciality tyres.. i even dropped them an email and they say that "due to popular demand we are reviewing the decision to mass produce vyde in the coming months" and this was the same response i got in april as well. and i got to know that MRF had only produced a set of 8 VYDE tyres this time as well(out of which 1 came to me!).
