        • Oil Change

          hi,,

Check out this FB link b4 u do oil change....

          Bajaj Pulsar | Facebook

Never use synthetic engine oil in a new engine as this will not allow the new engine to properly run in. Advisable to use the manufacturer recommended grade.
          Regards,
          GinsB.

            • my bike has done 26k kms and its 2007 model.
This is the first time i am giving it to a local mehcanic for service.I am not happy with the service.in fact same case with the PBK also before.
1.Bike growl sound has increased a lot.i like it to be silent.
2.During idle, rpm keeps on changing from 1000rpm to 1200rpm and back.
3.Speed/rpm has reduced. e.g Speeds used to be
              52kmph @4000rpm in 5th gear
              84kmph @6000rpm in 5th gear
              Now
              50kmph and 78kmph respectively.

4.I am kind of irritated with the chain sound. This problem is existing for quite sometime.
mechanic could not rectify it.He says the chain is uneven and hence the noise.
Other mechanic says adding a chain bush will reduce the noise.but its not in stock.
I changed new chain set at 20k at pbk.chennai.Not sure what might have happened within 6k.I am using chain spray but some "khach khach" noise is coming from the chain.

5.Changed LHS switch gear as it was not working,620rs. Now the auto cancelling indicators are not working.

6.Air filter icon is blinking all the time. Not able to solve it.

Will someone kind enough to help me out.

Did u changed ur stock clutch plates???? if not change them after that speeds at specific rpms will regain as before.

regarding the chain just change the chain lock it may solve the sound issue.

The chain noise is coming as the chain is rubbing on the swingarm rubber covering, very near to the front sprocket. The chain needs to be tightened. If the noise persists after tightening then this means the chain is laterally bent and needs to be replaced along with the sprockets.

Auto cancelling indicators have a sensor at the steering head, somewhere below the ignition key slot. That sensor might be out of alignment.

As for the air filter thing I think the sensor needs to be cleaned.

I have used it for only 6000kms. Do you think chain set has to be replaced too soon?
Any other alternative like repairinging the chain or something like that?

mechanic says that sensor has to be replaced but that part is not available.
                      Thanks for your reply.

Well a chain set lasts around 15-20K kms so get your chain slack adjusted, it may just be loose. But if the rubbing sound continues after 2-3 adjustments then the entire set has to be replaced.

I have personally experienced this problem. According to the mechanic, the PBK guys put the front sprocket the opposite way and this bent the chain. Now I'm not sure about the opposite thingy but the chain went on making noise even after four adjustments so I replaced it.

Chain sets can't be repaired. Maybe you could have the chain cleaned and lubed once before adjusting the slack, might solve the problem.

                        OT: 600 posts yay!!!

I will take it to pbk this week and see what they have to say on this.
From my previous experiences, its hard to convince them that its a fault. As they will come up with some stupid explanation on their own to just shy away from work.
