New silencer is costing Rs. Around 9000/-. I'm in Indore, this is the suggestion I got from mechanic and that's what I shared with you. But sorry mate don't know where to get the silencer from as it is short of supply over here also.
No problem dude...Just look around for a person who does steel welding and not normal welding...i had the same issue with my silencer for the past four years. I had it normal welded for 100 bucks and 50 for remove/fitting back the silencer. It lasts for around one and half to 2 years. I'm still looking for someone who can weld it properly. Till then normal weld.

Just check wether the socket which is connected to the key is ok. i had a similar problem. The socket was not proper..finally cut the socket and manually connected the wires.Originally posted by shoaib786 View PostGuys der is a serious problem in my Pulsar 200 DTS-i (2008 Model). Recently i had changed total electricals of the bike including Digital console, BCU, both left n right switches, RR unit, Stator coil n wiring harness. The problem is that while running, the small bulbs of headlight, meter lights n L-R Switches light starts flickering even when the light switch is off. I again changed the right switch thought that it would be the main cause of da issue but, then also same problem exists. The sai service guys are also not able to make out the exact problem of it. Please Help.

Re: Pulsar 200 DTS-i
So i remember seeing some beautiful mods to the P220 a couple of posts back and was wondering when someone in India would do such gorgeous stuff. Imagine my suprise when I walked into KRP for my R1 repair and there stood a beautifully modded P220, the mod just blew my mind and so I found out that they do and have done quite a few faired mods for the P220. i thought I would post it for everyone's review on the forum as well. Am considering the red one for my beloved beauty as well

Pulsar 200 DTS-i Problem
Does anyone around here have consistent problems with their bike? Despite extreme care and very consistent checkups my bike doesn't seem all that happy. I mean I feel like I'm in a relationship, the bike behaves strange whenever it feels like. On the best days the bikes, super smooth, let's me touch 110 without any hassle and the engine heat is normal. On a bad day, the bike sputters, I hear a weird knocking sound from somewhere within the head to cylinder area, I ride it very slow on these kind of days, but the engine heat is substantially higher and the gear shifts feel like I am switching knobs on a blender that has lost it's carbon brush.
I bought it in December 2007, the bike has run 32K and I service the bike every month, mainly due to the issues I face with smoothness. The last month I got the silencer changed, set me back by another 8K. Both tires are new. On an average I spend anywhere between 1K-2K every month. Mentally I can't handle the frustration anymore, I've run out of mechanics to visit and forums to search. I came across one guy with the same issue but then I can't find that post anymore.
Had a lot of fun on this bike and sadly I feel the time has come for it to go; I'm planning on moving it in to the garage till I can find a permanent solution for the problem or someone who is really keen on opening it up completely and going inch by inch arrives. Next month onward I'll be shifting to the Dio and bicycle.

Re: Pulsar 200 DTS-i
Hi,
Anyone know a trustworthy mechanic or service center in South Delhi, near Mehrauli to be precise.
I'm tired of my service center duping me after every service plus the bike (Pulsar 200 DTS-i) has also started to gradually come apart.
Need help, please let me know of some good options, where I can get my bike serviced without any recurring problems.
Thanks!sigpic

Re: Pulsar 200 DTS-i
Hi All,
I own a Pulsar 150 UG 4.5 since June 2011 and the odo stands at just 13550 KMS.
Off lately I now feel that there is some serious lack of power in the bike, no problem as such but that 150cc small engine does make only 15PS of power. I don't want to go for big jobs like big bore kit and free flow exhaust and performance filter but as suggested by my friend, a switch to P220 CDI should do the job. Has anyone out here got any idea about the cost of the P200 CDI unit and if possible, can someone share the pic of it.Regards,
Akash Yadav

Re: Pulsar 200 DTS-i
Hi All,
This is my first post on this forum. I hope it will be a good journey ahead
.
My p200 (black) is 3yrs old and done 30k. It's going great so far. I always loved my 200 for it's looks and abilities. Though in looks section I feel the company left lot of scope for improvement. May be they kept it for the 200NS.
The first thing I replaced in my 200 was it's handle grips. I borrowed one from Fiero as they are very comfortable.
So, here are few things on my mind. I need your valuable comments which can be regarding feasibility factor, price factor, place where I can get that done or just suggestion like "naaa...that won't look good" .
1) I like the design of front disk of Apache RTR. Is it a direct fit? How much it might cost? Is there any drawback?
2) Is there any lamp kit/assembly which fits into current cowling (headlamp fairing) and looks like the one present in p220. I don't just want to put a projector in the same assembly as it looks incomplete. p220 has a section for projector and around it it's all opaque.
3) If I had to get alloys re-painted, will the job be done on the current paint or the black coat has to be removed first? I am planning to have a golden color on them. Any comments?
EDIT: I think Brass-ish or metallic dark grey might look better. Problem with lighter shades is they look bad when they get dirty.
4) How would a very-very light golden color on the muffler (only catalyst containing part) will look
?
5) Some time ago, Yamaha launched accessories for R15 and FZ16. Can we use brake-fluid reservoir cap and brake/clutch levers among those.
6) Current rear foot-rests give a very dull look. Can we use those present on 200NS/R15? Will they look good
?
7) Changing LCD light from orange to sky-blue. I have never heard of this but is it possible?
I am still thinking of what else can be done to make our beautiful p200s to live distinctively among the present day machines. Please add your suggestions/comments.
I'll sit in my spare time to do some photoshop-ing (oh now I have to learn that) to bring up a visual of what I am thinking.
Thanks.Last edited by Galaxian; 09-03-2013, 01:21 PM.
