  • Battery Problem

    Hi,

I own a Pulsar 200. I have done abt 20K odd kms. Lately my Battery has started giving me a lot of problems.

In September last year, I had to replace my battery because it was not charging and was dead. When I took it to the Service Center the mechanic told me that it was due to the regulator not working and had to be replaced as well.

Now its hardly 6 months and again the battery problems have started. I got the battery checked and it is fine. The water level is also fine. During the day time I have no issues at all with the battery but during night running (with headlights) it seems to be getting dis-charged and the Battery warning light starts showing.

Could it be due to some wiring fault ?

    please advise.

    Thanks.

Yes its the FZ's one. Significantly better than the stock when it comes to braking. Awesome stability in corners. and stoppies are peace of cake now .

Classic headlamp was my first thought. But there is lot of wiring and electronic stuff in the fairing which I could hide behind this headlamp. Wouldn't have been possible with round headlamp. Moreover Round headlamp would've looked weired with the current digital speedo.

But anyhow mode looks just beautiful in flesh

Here is a good link on this:

The only issue is that the neutral light indicator wire coming out of the Avenger stator does not match the neutral wire socket on the P200 wire harness. So it is just a minor jugaad to connect them somehow.

Important: Don't buy the Avenger 200 or 220's stator. These do not fit the P200.

        thanks man for the reply
if u put up the stator on ur bike anytime ! just take a few pics of the connection of neutral wire, and put it up it will help people like me alot

40-45k is the market price for the 220-FI. Expect a little less than that, if ur lucky ur's can go for the same price as 220-FI, if the buyer is specifically looking for 200. Btw. ur mod's while selling doesn't count at all.

            • Hello fellow p200ians !
I have a small doubt with regard to engine oil.
My 200 has done 20K km and Im planning to change the engine oil from the mineral oil provided by bajaj to Motul 300v FS.
But when i told this to a mechanic near my house he said Fully Synthetic or for that matter Synthetic oils are harmful for the engine because they are sticky and they usually stick to the engine walls thereby reducing pick-up...mileage...everything....I was shocked because I have seen many people in xbhp recommend it for p200 and p220 !
guys please help me out with this ! Im not sure if I can go for Motul 300v or not !
              your suggestions r helpful !
              thanks !

The physical properties or gently called as nature of an Engine oil is to be sticky so as to stick around the cylinder walls & lubricate the piston movement happening up & down thus by drastically reducing abrasion & wear & tear that can kill the engine on a long run if isn't there. Going by what ur Mechanic says, if what he says is true, ask him to suggest some non sticky oil for ur engine or run the engine on a non sticky air without any engine oil both of which will eventually kill the engine.

P.S. Gyaan apart, go with Motul FS 300V 15w 50w, this is the best you can give your bike, just make sure you change all the engine seal packing before you do as the double ester technology used by Motul on FS oil range will eventually leak out if us gaskets are weak. Don't worry about the engine seal packing..not required at such stage.
I'm using Motul 5100 15W50 since 30000 kms and I'm very much satisfied with the quality of oil. I can easily do around 3500-4000 kms with it.
Although 300V is also an amazing engine oil, but the price is almost the double of semi synthetic.
Since, you've done 20K kms, suggest you to go with either 5100 or 300V.
Just experience it once and you would yourself get to know about it.

                              • Finally the 40000 kms mark is crossed by my P200 and it feels great to ride it. 4-5 months were quite tough for her since getting adapted to Mumbai weather (rains), CDI going kaput, battery drained, spark plug finished. I felt like not to ride.
But i never gave up, made all the parts changed that were necessary and voila!!..my baby is back with a smooth and confident riding experience.

Using Motul 5100 since 30000kms, NGK spark plugs (G power), amaron battery, clutch plate (changed recently), motul chain spray, P220 fi sprocket.
