        • Business decisions are sometimes heartless. This is one of them I guess. I've always had a soft corner for the 200, and the 200's all-rounder capabilities with solid reliability (at least after the initial few batches), is not a debatable topic. The 200 is also the ultimate Himalayan assault weapon. Props to the bike, but it had to make way.

But a similar consolidation of bikes/variants is required in the exec-commuter/commuter segments, with differences of 10cc amongst bikes. Madness..

            • After a serious fall last year I was running her with the screwed up fork and silencer now after reading this news I would restore her back to the stock condition.. She'll always be my 1st love. Also glad that it would be enough exclusive than the 180s/220s .

                • sorry to disturb the sentimental flow...
but does anyone know the differences in the new 180's electricals vs the 200's electricals? Since the new 180 is all DC we can find out which components need to be bought for converting the 200 to an all DC..

                  right forum I hope?

Any specific reasons, for changing to DC???? If no, i would never suggest to tamper with ur Electricals!!!

                    • ^ No I was thinking of installing the HID's and all...

Ok so if the DC is a bad idea then could anyone confirm if installing the Avenger 180's stator plate will affect the electricals? As that stator is 55/60 W apparently and the stock is only 35 W? What about any effect on the battery or other electrical thingies?

The whole point behind all this is that I'm not happy with the stock lighting on my 200.

@dual disc 200 : I am also going to install the rear disc. I'm not happy with the rear drum at all and the Khivraj guys have already replaced the brake liners 3 times in 6 services. Must be a rip-off but no more drum for me, definitely!

U need not convert your entire system to DC to install HID's can finish it off by installing a Bridge Rectifier!!!

Regarding the disc setup!! U can very well go in for it if u have some panny available, cos for me it was a total rip-off that i never expected but i'm happy with the setup!!!!!

                        • ^ I was saving up for the disc for a long time .

What's a bridge rectifier? The AC to DC converter? But that will not work if the bike is off...I want the lights to work when the bike is off. (I like it!)
I also want to try out the A180 stator/Osram Nightbreaker combination as so many have done here. Just want to make sure the higher wattage of the stator will not damage the electricals.

I am still waiting for the new P220 and thus, its spare parts to show up in the service centers. Hopefully the prices have decreased?
Anyway all this is going to take some time in getting to Bangalore. We'll see.

                              • ^ Oh so you are thinking of putting the P220's front fork assembly? That's great! I have the same ideas in my mind.

The bolt on the 220 is the same thickness as the 200 or the 180. Thus the 220's front forks and the assembly can be fitted in.
As for fitting the 200's dome on the 220's front assembly, the parts from the new 180 can be used.

This is what I have gathered from looking at my roomie's new 180...
Please do post the pics as well as the cost when you do so.

Also the console backlighting colour you mentioned??
