Headlight assembly will not cost more than 2200. I got a new one for my 200 and it was around this much price around 1.5yrs back.

^ Hmm I guess I gave the price for the 220 front fairing assembly, so the P200 one has to be cheaper. You are right, it will be CHEAPER.

The plate on the silencer - can be fixed get a 220 plate for Rs 42 and get a mechanic with some common sense, he will get the rivets out for you and fix the new plate with bolts... I did the same got it done for 50 Rs.

The whole Headlamp assembly. - (With headlamp, fairing and visor) got this done at karol baugh for 1600 + labor. Make sure that you get the original headlamp assy though, there are a lot of duplicates there. Look for the one with Rider written and that is genuine.

The original headlamp at PBK is at 1300Rs or so, I guess.

the headlamp costs Rs.1500 with taxes, the red fairing thing is some Rs.800, i am retaining the old wisor.
The silencer plate also will be replaced,he has ordered those rivets.
The handle bar has a bend, he said he il fix it but i asked to replace the whole bar....that is correct rite???? coz it cannot be corrected i guess.......
Seems like all il be taken care..

Hey, by "Plate on the silencer" are u talking about the heat shield (with the two nuts)?? if yes, it can be changed. I have changed it like thrice already on mine. Thats the first thing that takes the hit on a right hand fall. It costs about 50-60 I guess.

And the Head light assembly, will cost you about 1800 at PBK. (Fitting charges extra) including the windshield, have changed this twice on mine.

Actually, the older silencers used rivets. The PBK guys would say it is not repairable and a new silencer is required. Later the silencers came with nuts or screws so it could be. But it seems there is a workaround for the riveted one as well.

Noise from Engine

Hey guys,

My 200 is now causing a weired noise of tik tik tik... from the engine. Wondering what it is of, I guess timing chain? or something else? it has clocked 23K kms.

The engine is running good, with top whack of 127 and overall fuel efficiency of 40kmpl with 30% ripping and 70% sane riding. And yeah, it is from the very first gen of 200 3yrs. back with black speedo meter.

yeah dude...it maybe the timing chain.. bajaj guys aren't really in the favour of addressing these kinda problems till such time the noise is loud and clear...like tak tak

what is timing chain ?? i guess thats the usual knocking sound coming from every 200 engine.
Anyways, i am planning to get K&N installed. as usual question is which model should i go for. people say R-1100 is suitable for bikes more than 180cc. and some say go for Rc-1060.
Can somebody pls explain which model should i go for ? and i would really appreciate if u can specify the reason for particular model.

As i'll be getting air filter directly from US so it'll cheaper for me almost 1/2 the price.
Rs1485/- for R-1100 & Rs.1125/- for Rc-1060

I have a p200 which i bought in June 2007.
Now there is a issue that the back CC Cover(As they call it,Where the stop light is) has broken and pbk is charging Rs700 for it.
Inquired in Karol Bagh and the part also costs the same so thought of getting it done from PBK.
Another issue about the head light like you all is the light is too dim.
Inquired with PBK and they have Avenger 180 coil but they will not sell it loose and will have to get it fixed from them.Anyone know a place in delhi (not karol bagh as they dont have it) where i can get it for cheap or loose piece.
I have been using Valvo line for some time now and the mileage is standard for about 35kmpl in city and 40-42 on highways.
I had to get my Cylinder kit changed and due to an accident the silencer was also changed.
So 4 questions
1)Cost of CC cover (If available cheap somewhere)
2)Should i get the coil rewinded or get a avenger 180 coil. (Can someone recommend a place where i can get a fresh piece)
3)Tappet noise is too much for my bike.How would you check for it and does normal PBK service they check for it.
4)What are the checks that PBK do when you tell them the mileage is less. (If in case i could check that my self or a local mechanic could do).

Well mate, dont know the cost of CC cover, for coils I would recommend changing the assy. itself to that of avenger coil,(since its always better to have a proper coil instead of messing with the old coil) they should give it loose, may be try a different PBK.
Tappet noise... u sure about it, is it the same tik tik noise? coz mine also have it.. but it is only evident when the engine had a run. It is of timing chain though, as told by a mechanic and some fellas here.
For mileage they should check the color of your spark-plugs, the CO levels coming out from exhaust... based on them they will adjust your carburettor.
