Yes it has to be changed when the rear sprocket is changed. (Or so the mechanic said). The old bush had become loose and a small amount of movement was occurring between the hub and bush. The new bush removes any movement between the hub and the sprocket.Originally posted by sharath412 View PostTHANKS MR. TANAY

Need advice on oil switch/carb tuning on my 200
Hi All,
My 200 is 7 months old, and I have completed about 4000 Kms (
have not ridden it much, only highway riding mostly). I have been using the ASC recommended Oil till date, and the bike has under gone 4 oil changes (I changed it frequently the first couple of months).
I want to switch over to a better brand/type of oil now. My queries are the following,
1) What brand/type of Oil do the probiking centers use. (tried asking this at the ASC a couple of times, and couldn't get a straight answer out of any of the jokers here at the Chennai -Adyar ASC)
2) Is it Mineral/Semi/Fully synthetic (the one used by ASC's)
3) If it is currently under Mineral/semi-synth, is it advisable to switch to Semi/Fully-synth?
4) I have heard Motul 300V is good, but need your suggestions, based on experience as to how good is it. does it smooth out the engine response/power delivery? is it good/bad for the gearbox?
5) OT - My bike has stalled a good many times in the second gear at speeds of 5-10 KMPH, This I have noticed only after the last free servicing. Could this be due to a lean air-fuel mixture in my carb?
Please throw some light on my queries above. Really appreciate your help.
Cheers!

1&2. Here in Chennai they use different brands of Mineral as it is cheaper, First i saw them use Servo which is piss poor btw, then they switched to Motul for a brief amount of time, then back to Servo but now i have no idea what they are using
3. There is absolutely nothing wrong in going full/semi-synth from mineral anytime after the run-in has been done, the reason they say not to switch to higher grade oil look for the specification of the oil, 15W40 is for Semi to Full synth which is higher grade and these will last longer than mineral (Semi=2000~2500kms; Full=3500~4000kms), Mineral uses 20W50 which obviously is lower runs to about 1500~2000 kms before run-in is because the higher viscosity will prevent the different contacting parts from "bedding" properly.
4. I switched to Motul 300V at ~3000 mark, was very good bike took a lot of thrashing but still ran smooth as silk after, lasted longer too about 4500 to be approximate. But start off from 5100T 15W40 simply so that you'll be able to compare between semi/full, because 300V costs 650 a litre and you need to buy two (Engine oil sump=1300ml) whereas 5100T costs nearly half that price for a litre.
The good news if you are gouing for Motul is that the wholesale dealer is located near Miot hospitals near ramapuram where you get a discount of about 50~100 rupeesI'm too intelligent to the unintended, and too dumb for the obvious.

Thanks a million for taking your time and explaining all this to me Diablo!
so I guess I will start off with the Motul 5100T (Semi-synth?).
BTW, any idea what the Bajaj recommended grade is? 15W-40 ??

Yes Semi-Synth would be easier to start off with on your pocket that is, after which you could go for Full-Synth to really be able to appreciate the quality of the oil. The Bajaj recommended grade is 20W50 however they do say "SAE 20W50 of API 'SJ' + JASO 'MA' grade or Superior" (Page no. 20)I'm too intelligent to the unintended, and too dumb for the obvious.

This thread is dying, people!! Assuming by the inactivity on this thread, No one seems to have any issues with the 200. Seems like we've the perfect bike on our hands
or is it that people are too busy riding the bike, to have any time to update this thread

Well the reason is because literally we own the best pulsar in the whole pulsar series!
IMO i own a r15 as well as 200, riding a r15 is a diffrent world but this bike, my first love, thrills me even now!!
Anyone saw pulsar stunt mania and saw what is our bike capable of doing?
Many OT's, cmin back to topic, my tyres are just too plain to ride, any suggetions which tyre to go for?

Go for Zapper VYDE or IRC 17' .. IRCs are soft compound tyres but better grip over VYDE. VYDE is semi-soft compound and wears off faster than the stock tyres but has better grip.Originally posted by Shanz View PostWell the reason is because literally we own the best pulsar in the whole pulsar series!

IRC will cost you somewhere around 2500INR and VYDE for 1600INR.
P.S.: In stuntmania all the bikes were P180s, though IMO P200 is still better than 180 for stunting. Those people who tell you not to take chances
