Yup! That is what I plan to do. I don't want to shift directly to a fully synthetic oil from the present oil that the service centre guys use. I will be shifting to the Motul/Valvoline semi-synthetic oil in my next oil-change and only after the machine has completed 5,000 kms. or so, I plan on shifting to the fully synthetic ones (from either Motul or Valvoline).

    • Uhhh...... i think you did'nt read the post carefully, first change from whatever mineral engine oil the SVC guys use to your prefered Mineral engine oil (Motul 3000 4T), then blah, blah, blah
I'm too intelligent to the unintended, and too dumb for the obvious.

If you say so, I'll do that bro, but could it be harmful if we shift from Mineral to full-synthetic in one shot?
Or just as an extra precaution...?

for around 5000-7000kms...use the oil provided by probiking guys....MAK, shell aren't that bad in quality..!! i mean you can do 2000kms but can't compare this oil with any motul product
but if they allow you to put oil of your choice then i won't prefer valvoline, its almost same as MAK..i don't know why it is called a semi sythetic oil...you can rather go for 5100T..now thats called a semi synthtetic one..drain interval 3000-4000kms preformance wise: much much better than valvoline and price wise its for 325/ltr
            its all about CC...

              • ok, on a serious note....though I have heard quite a lot about MOTUL on various other sites too, and people drooling over the WONDERFUL performance it delivers in terms of Engine protection+ drain interval.....JUST want to know how Good or Bad it would be if we add the NULON to our otherwise MINERAL base Engine Oil! and has any body used it?
any remarkable benefit or Harm NULON might have provided?
Its not about the BHP or the CC, its about one common religion called Biking!!!

No not at all bro, in fact i changed from mineral to full-synth when my bike was just 2197kms old on the odo, there's no serious problem that i've faced, but my gears seem to be "loose" compared to other Pulsars that is the only problem other than that i'm happy i changed to full-synth

Hey Aryan! Congrats on your new ride! I've been off xBhp so sorry for the delay in congratulations!

El Loc man keep up the good work in this thread!

@Aryan: Use Motul 5100T, its damn good, its cost effective and will easily last you upwards of 3.5K kms.

                          1. Motul 3000 4T (Mineral) Cost: Rs. 150~250/- Mileage: 2500~3000kms
                          2. Motul 5100 T (Semi Synth) Cost: Rs. 300/- Mileage: 3000~4000kms
                          3. Motul 300V (Full Synth) Cost: Rs. 600/- Mileage: 4500~5500kms

I've had 300V which ran upto 5091kms with still some juice left in it and am currently running on 5100 T which has run 1894kms and will be good for another 2000kms, you can buy these Motul products at the warehouse located at Ramapuram, located on the rightside at the intersection that comes after Miot hospitals (while coming towards Porur from Kathipara) the road itself takes a left and a right, as soon as you exit the right curve the warehouse is on your left (It's got a big board, so you can't possibly miss it), there the prices are Rs.50/- lesser than in any other outlets (which is the price i've quoted above), though i'm not quite sure about the price of 3000 4T
Got the 3000 4T for 160 last month from the above mentioned place. Good oil, my Unicorn loves it.

Thanks Praful! Yeah, got the P-200 about a couple of months back.

I am contemplating in shifting the engine oil. Let's see; will use a semi-synthetic first, then plan on shifting to fully-synthetic with time..

                            • For a first time change to semi-synth, give VP4T a shot. I'm sure you won't be dissapointed. But it wont be smooth for more than 2K kms, but this can vary with individual riding conditions.

Thanks man (though i still don't know why)

A update on my bike, the idle seems to be very erratic on my P200, and the bike feels "soft" is this because the bike is being ridden sparingly? It is smooth at low revs 3-5K rpm but becomes harsh and does'nt accelerate properly if i thrash it, that day a P150 guy smoked me at the traffic lights, apart from that one issue the bike is otherwise wonderful, can't even say that it had crashed at 75kmph, my dad finally gave in and am going to go for a insurance, but before that how much can i expect for the speedo? Only the screen is cracked if i can get a P200/P220 screen, maybe i can replace it and solder the new one into place. Is it possible for me to scavenge parts from rejected/broken parts from PBK and retro fit it onto my speedo?
