  • ^^ Oh that sort of mail i thought you got a complaint mail from a bajaj user (small misunderstanding), i don't know what people have got against premium segment bikes, the last time i had a crash an old man said out aloud that "all pulsars/pulsar riders are like this only" i was like WTF?? just beacause someone crashes in a Pulsar does that mean all pulsars are accident prone

@me.ab77- I don't know dude, but there are a lot of factors that affect the way the bike sets in, luckily for me it did'nt react badly to the oil, but as i said earlier the bike's gear shift became too, sensitive and sometimes the gears engaged even when i was only resting my foot on the levers, and i can also say that the oil played some part in the slipping of the gears

The fairer sex has been responding quite well, to my surprise. At first, it was a little difficult for her to adjust to that pillion seat, but the Lansdowne trip and the everyday city-rides has had a positive effect on her, for sure!

P.S: I see you have changed your avataar! Nice, although I loved the 'Stig' picture more..

                • Guys good news and bad, i got approval from my Dad (*Whew*) finally to get the work started on my bike, i'm going to give it for repairs the first thing in the morning, and also i would not be holding anything back and am going to try and get as much as the damaged parts replaced as possible under insurance, but my worry is that when the PBK guys change my frame won't the frame number change as well? And that in turn would show discrepancy on my RC papers would'nt it? What is the procedure to be followed? it would be helpful if someone could give info on this

                  • hmmm not sure on this... but perhaps you should confirm with PBK if the frame number does change in the first place..

                    • The Rebirthing begins....................................

I applied for the insurance today at the Allianz Bajaj, the insurance guys told me that they would send a supervisor over today or tomorrow to the scene of the accident as well as to the dealership to validate the claims on my bike, filled up the necessary forms and gave the bike for repairs immediately after to the PBK guys, a certian Mr. Kumaresan handling insurance and accident vehicles wasn't there today, i'm yet to get the estimate for the repairs, i'm planning to do this as a cashless claim i.e. i've asked the claim cheque to be addressed directly to the PBK dealers, the insurance people agreed with this and so do the PBK guys as they charge for the repairs only after it has been done, my main worry is the whether the claim will fully cover all of my damages (i know i've to pay 5% for the metal and 50% for the plastic parts) i've asked the PBK guys to stress on changing the fork and frame under insurance, but am still a bit worried

                      • @ELD : AFAIK, the insurance fellows take some time (a week or two) to prepare the cheque once all the repairs have been done...and hence your bike will have to remain at the showroom until they receive the amount..

so i think its better for you to pay the cash and later get the cheque directly...you can also ask them to reconsider the amount if u feel that it is not sufficient..

Its good that you have Bajaj Allianz insurance... I guess its the only insurance company that keeps its promise... very fast service (almost full cashless service and fast). I guess if the frame and forks are repairable, its most unlikely that they will be changed under insurance, only if they have visible cracks or if they are broken, then only they can be changed under insurance. This is what I know, please clear all your doubts with the insurance claim wala person at PBK properly to avoid any disappointments later.
And about the changed frame/chassis number, I guess it will be taken care by the PBK guys, or they will guide you with the procedures.

if possible, do as kirankumar says. Because the insurance people do take time in sending the cheque. Pay the amount if possible and contact the insurance person. He will process your bill and you should get the cheque within 3-4 working days to the address you specify in the insurance form. I did it last month. Everything went on pretty smoothly. Got my bike as well as cash within a week of the incident.

Actually they have said that the repair works itself will take upto 10-15 days time, so by which time if i'll get the cheque, so i told them to put the cheque under the PBK's name instead of mine

When i bought the bike i thought it was better if i went with the company insurance because i knew the PBK guys would have a rapport with the Allianz guys. But will they be able to repair the damage on the frame? According to mech's there if the frame was bent then it should have be at the junction where the neck meets the rest of the frame due to the nature of the crash which is a difficult place in itself because of all the welds and the thickness of the frame. And also according to PBK, mechs don't do any welds or bending in the SVC station

Its not about good rapport with allianz.... its like the insurance company is good enough to trust, personal experience(am not preaching anybody to go for bajaj allianz ok... I dont have any personal benefit from it). They settle claims without much kich-kich and are super fast . About your bike's frame issue, am not much familiar with the bending and welding part, so cant comment much. But as of what I have seen, they replace the chassis/forks only if they are irreparable.
