  • My Bike is Back!!!

After nearly four weeks, numerous phone calls, rushing back and forth to PBK like a wet hen and waiting for a whole day yesterday i got my bike finally. The final cost came to Rs. 20,004.16/- nearly one third of my bike's value, the most important parts were of course the front fork and frame assembly which both are new so, the bike feels and handles just like how a brand-new bike might act in terms of dynamics except for the engine and tranny which is still ~10K old, i'm happy to say that after a odd 50kms around the city yesterday riding in a mixed style, i was satisfied with the bike's dynamics, it did'nt show any signs of the fact that it ploughed into a rock at 75kmph, the equipment-wise i'm throughly happy and satisfied whereas the same cannot be said for the experience i had with the SVC. In the three point some weeks that my bike was at the SVC the bike's repairs were done only four days from yesterday and that too i had gone in person twice to get them to do it, then when they did get the job done, it took me another three days just to get the Insurance people synced up with the SVC guys for the cashless entry which eventually did'nt happen because the draft of the insurance that was to come yesterday to them was to arrive at 7:30 but SVC would close at 6:30, so i was left there having no choice but to get my bike out on my own cash as i had been waiting from 9:00am to 5:45pm like a stupid crackhead thinking atleast yesterday things would move as i had percieved, and throughout this whole ordeal PBK gave me cold shoulder everytime i tried to make them make an excuse for me out of the books, i had to comply with their every terms every single time. But surely they would've done all what i've asked them to do on the bike atleast? NO they did'nt i specifically and explicitly asked them to change my exhaust under insurance and what these people do? they go and change my tail, which was perfectly fine, i asked them about this they told me that it had scratches so they were able to replace it under insurance and get it approved too!! but when i asked them the same for the exhaust, they told me that it did'nt have enough damage to be replaced under insurance WTF?? It had come off of it's two rivets and there was a gaping hole in the side and that's not a convincing damage enough for replacement?? This is really starting to leave a bad taste and by the looks of it i think things are only going to get worse there as there is only one in Chennai and the number of 200's and 220's are ever increasing, it seems as though these guys are deliberately putting their head into the guillotine, which is only too fine by me!! I'm getting irritated just when i think of the fact that i need to take my bike there for periodical services, Bajaj if you are reading this get your act together people, 'cause right now it's just plain SHITTY!!

EDIT: Pics will be coming soon and watch this space for further updates on my bike
@Insidous: Thanks a ton man for keeping me company for nearly half a day at the SVC, i think i would have snapped if i had been alone over there till 5pm!

    • @Diablo: Okay, that's some good news at last. FINALLY, your P-200 is as good as new. The SVC, well, that's a different experience/ story altogether!

        • ^^ Well it was on 25th sept. (i think), i was riding across the powerhouse signal (second signal after the kodambakkam bridge), i had the last few seconds of my green light, so i was going at some 75-80kmph hugging my right as there were people from my left creeping up, suddenly out of nowhere the guy on the opposite lane makes a u-turn, looks at me, and stops dead in his tracks, i somehow manage to swerve and avoid him lock up my handle bar, the bike fishtails, flips me in front of the bike, i narrowly miss a lampost and land on my thumb, while the bike hits on big chunk of pavement or something that had come loose and flips and lands on it's head, i get back up and ride home and the rest as they say............................................was one big nightmare

                  • @ELD: I know how it feels having your bike at the service station when nothings getting done and you're at home all healed up and itching to ride. Nightmare truly...

As for the state of the service station, you said it all! At this rate, bajaj will lose potential customers and all the other brand fanboys are gonna go 'I told you so!'

Really happy that you got your bike back! Bloody lucky too that your bike handles like a dream. I had my forks replaced, and the handling was fuzzy till I had the con steering kit replaced on my 220 but suspension is as good as my gramps walking stick plonked into the fork barrel. Oh yes, I visit the service center twice every week too...

Thanks to Mr. Muthukumar, B&QRest Garage for these acquaintances!

                          • hello...

                            i'm hanx..

i bought my PZOO last may 2008,,, now it has 13000km on odometer...
I feel this one is a great bike,,, it handles well,, compared 2 other local bikes, it performs better. If i can rate it, i'll give an 8 or 8.5 while the other 6-7.5...
Many people in india said that Pulsar's handling are worse, but i feel so contrary...

Maybe in here, so many worse bike than Pulsar,, and in India many better bikes than Pulsar...

The Suspension is nice & predictable. The engine is actually good,, its torque and power feels smooth. But there's something weird before i change my CDI unit. So much noise when the rev reaches 4-5k rpm...
I'm guessing that the original CDI don't have proper timing because it's used in P180 too...
So, couple times i had my temperature sensor blinking... , when i ride my bike into mountain.

The engine itself, i believe it's well-tuned. D-shape exhaust is cool.. no local bikes in here are tuned like that. Its rectangular intake, just xtra ordinary, like an american muscle car... hehe...

Speedometer is cool..!! Brakes perform well...
only minor finishing in chassis made a major problem for some people...
i hope Bajaj would definitely keep an eye on this.

The swing arm looks good but, why it's so thin?? for 145kg bikes, seems better using thicker plate...

Overall, it's great bike for commuting and weekend touring....

the light sure is impressive....the colour of the light is as usual...not white!!
and there is a small lag b/w high and low beam!!
i'm planning too about the night breaker...
                              how's ur review?

nightbreaker is 55/60w isn't it? i wonder if it can be fitted on our bike normally,,, because the AC electrical maybe made its durability is worse...
if use the DC, the charging alternator is just 2Amperes...!!
