I am in Pune and the new one costs around 82k. This resale Avenger is 5 months old. We are still working on the final price and I quoted him 68K. Lets see if this goes through. 14K hit for a 5 months old is quite ok I guess.

The ownership transfer rate is 1000/- and then I spoke to BAL about the remaining service coupons and they said they I can use them irrespective of ownership transfer.

If this does not go through, I might end up with a new FZ16/R15.

I See that in another thread you are also comparing this to R15 and other bikes.
I would suggest you first zero in on the kind of bike you want. Avenger is different form R15 which is different from FZ16.
I can understand you may be thinking of this used bike offer a good price and maybe too good to pass. (Happens with me all the time)
Given that the price difference between this used Avenger is not much from a new one, I would not recommend hurrying up.
Plus with the new pulsar, who knows Bajaj may soon put the new engine into the Avenger also.

Finally, bought the 6 months old Avenger at 68K. No accident, no dents (Except a very small on tank). I have already started enjoying the ride. Its a bit harsh on broken roads but then on good roads, nothing beats it in comfort. Will keep on posting my ownership updates.

After reading all reviews finally I can make my mind first I was planning for enfield Electra twin spark for next year but since bajaj is lined up for an upgrade for avy shall wait and watch for it to come in the market. Sooner or later. I hope shall do posses a cruiser ones

Regarding the New Avenger 220 !

I am planning to get the new Avenger 220 Oil Cooled !
Any Suggestions so to:-
1) I am 6ft and weight around 100 Kg, would it suit me for city as well as highway riding ?
2) Whats the mileage in city and highways ?
3) Will it be a pain to ride in heavy traffic condiitons ??

1) This bike will certainly not look ood for anyone above 5'10" and will be a pain to commute within city

2) aily office commuting and riding in the city: 37/l or 38/l (top speed up to 60 Km/hr)
Highway: 47 / l (Speed ranging between 60 Km/hr and 90 Km/hr)
Highway: 42 / l (Speed ranging between 90 Km/hr and 115 Km/hr)
Highway, country-roads, ghats and spoiled-roads: 39 / l (Speed ranging between 40 Km/hr and 100 Km/hr)

3) For your height it will be a pain in heavy traffic conditions

Is Avenger good for me?

I am planning to buy a new avenger. I presently own Apache RTR 180 which i bought 1 and half years back. I am planning to change it as the riding position is giving me back ache. I have following questions:

1. My height is 5 feet 2 inches, would it be comfortable for me?
2. I have read that it skids a lot, is it true?
3. When will be the new Avenger launched?
4. Does a heavy pillion make it difficult to ride?

1. Yes. it would be comfortable for you.
2. True. It skids a lot. For details about this read my review on previous page.
3. Bajaj has no where disclosed any plans of new Avenger launch, as far as I know.
4. Yes. Heavy pillion would make it difficult to balance the bike and it would be painful for heavy pillion due to not-so-broad pillion seat.

Hey All,

So, here I am with my new Avy baby and m lovin' it. I love the comfort and control this baby provides (after a Samurai for close to a decade and Pulsar180 for 7 years ). I'm 5'11" and 120kg and i found this bike perfect to carry my weight

Just one problem --- I live in Magarpatta City, Pune. Inside the area, there are humps at almost every 100 meters... Solo, i can clear them all. But with a pillion, i feel like i'm landing on these humps on my backside... What part of the bike hits the road? I fear for the silencer as I'm close to 120kg and my pillion would be heavy too

Is there any way we can increase the ground clearance? Would it be safe if the ground clearance is increased in any way? If yes to both, any mechanics in Pune who could do this?

I'm having a horrible time dealing with the only bajaj dealer nearby (Gems auto, hadapsar) Any good mechanics nearby for regular servicing?

self start problem

guys has any one faced problems with self start? i was on the way to mysore and this happened when i stopped for breakfast. it just denied to start. then had to push the bike n start it, trust me guys you really miss having a kicker in this case!! getting back to the problem, i somehow managed to take it to a bajaj service centre and he charged me 650 for something then service 250 extra but this happened again on the way back!! i took it to probiking n he charged me Rs. 92 and it looks solved. but there was an avy for 1st service with the same complaint!! any one with answers??

what did the service station do? did they change any part? have you installed any add on like a more powerful horn or something?

I have an Avy 220 since last Sept. never faced any such problem till date.
