    1. HID lamp kit - KDO - Rs.1,200
    2. Dual horn - the stock was a bit pissweak; this one's louder but doesn't shatter eardrums - 250 bucks
    3. Theft-protection alarm - 900/-, Indian one, looks tacky but at least has a manufacturer's warranty (though dunno what good that is if the bike gets stolen )
    4. More comfy grips - 200/-
    5. Enfield saddlebag - Rs.500/- from Khajanchi - there are two of them, one in a narrow lane, and one on a wide road. This was from the wide road.

Then went to the other Khajanchi; a full plush seat which also pads / widens pillion seat will cost Rs.800 - said he'll take 1 hour. Tried a sample he had there - heaven - feels like sitting on a (slightly firm) bean bag ! Also selected a handlebar which gives a wider grip (helps greatly in 180-degree turning from stop) - said he'll fit it with all the original cables - Rs.600 + 100/- for mechanic.
Hey thanks very much. Do you have pix of the seat, specially as and when it was getting done.
Little busy now, will start playing with beauty soon

That's my 2-bit contribution for the day,

Now need some help - I need a mechanic in my area (Vasant Kunj or nearby) to whom I can take the bike for general tinkering / fittings - recommendations / PM's / emails welcome !

Congrats on your buy!!! Welcome to the club

+1 I too was thinking of tinkering with the seat. Could you post a few pictures of your seat and also a review of how you found the seat to be?
      Its not always about speed.

Now that the dream ride is over, I am looking to mod the bike to better its comforts.

        Questions

        1. Where can I get something like this (floor board) in India?

        2. A headlight cap similar - http://cruiserfx.com/images/Product/...lue-Day-sm.JPG

        Thanks for the responses.
Hi - Route66 tyres - am looking for them myself, will let you know as/when Pirelli responds. Rider (front) Footboards - the closest I've come to is the Enticer stock footrest. You can order through eBay India (Global Buy), or Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more - but they're frightfully expensive. Have discovered a clever mechanic in Delhi who says he can put in the Enticer ones - will let you know how it goes.

In the meantime can anyone help with advice on :

        a. Paint - I'd like a matt-black (Satin Black) colour on the whole bike, including engine - any idea on which paint I should use for i) engine, b) metal body and wheels, and c) plastic components (bumpers/side panels) ?

        b. Anyone has experience using Pulsar Nitrox gas-charged shock absorbers on an Avy ?

        c. Pure leather seats - how long do they last, and how bad do they look after the monsoon ? Or is it not worth it ?

        d. Eliminator / ThunderBird handlebars - do cables need to be changed ?

I know this is off topic, but this is among my first posts on the forum. I'm looking to upgrade to a bigger bike, and so wanted to put my Avenger 220 in the classifieds here. I tried posting 3 ads, but still have not been able to. Can anyone help me out!!!!? Do the ads need to be approved by someone? Or am I doing something wrong?

          • Hello fellow xBHPians, I want to change the stock handlebar of my Avenger 220 and replace it with a an ape-hangler handle. Here is an example of an ape-hangler handlebar

I'm 100% sure that the stock Avenger cables and wires will fall short because the handle is, well very high. So, friends could you please suggest me what to do. How do I find out what length cables I should get and more? Please help me as I have no idea how to install them and honestly none of my contacts know much about this.

                • Hi ApplePie75,I got myself a 220 about a month and half ago, just done with 1st servicing and I get about 35kmpl presently.I'm 5'8"and found the seating a little too low for comfort. So I got it re-moulded to suit the seating height for the rider and at the same time got it made broader for the pillion. The seating height/leg position is a matter of personal preference so I suggest you take a test ride to see how it feels for you.As far as cruising, its a very comfortable bike, though I would have preferred a 6th gear for the highways !

                    • I was wondering whether a fuel gauge can be fit to the Avenger 180 cc bike, as it does not have one?
Has anyone tried to fit a fuel gauge to a bike, like Yamaha Rx 100 ?

                      • Hi Avenger owners, I wanted to buy Avenger 220 but the thing which is bothering me is that I am 5ft10in tall, will this bike suit me as it is very low in height?
If not then could you suggest me some other cruiser bike which isn't too costly, coz I like cruiser bikes more than compared to Sports bikes.
How is the bike Royal Enfield Thunderbird & Bullet ? I live in Bangalore, how much will these two bikes cost me ?
