    Hello all ,
I am using Bajaj avenger 220 cc from past 2 years. I have driven it to approx 19k kms. I am facing few problems :
    1. Which Engine oil to use(Earlier i have used Bajaj DTS-i 10,000 - SAE 20W50 engine oil).
    2. Rear brake wears out easily.

      Ur problems :-
1 = the best ever engine oil is Motul 300V.. I've been using it since last 2 years, and I have seen very effective results. It costs 1050/-per liter.
If u have little low budget, then u can go for Motul 7100 20w50. Ut costs nearly 750/-per litre.

2= rear brake pads. The complete weight of body comes on rear breaks. Every one faces these problems in AVEY. Bajaj would have given discs at rear.
The solution for this is apply both breaks simultaneously. And learn the techniques of engine breaking. The most effective way to stop/slow down the speed..

        • New Bajaj Avenger 220

It was tough for me when the day arrived to let go of my Pulsar 180 which I owned for 3 and a half years. But the sorrow lasted only till I saw the Blue Avenger 220 at the Bajaj showroom.

I too had confusions when it came to choosing the right bike which suited my riding style. 3 options hit my head. The Pulsar 200NS, KTM Duke 200 and the Avenger 220. I, being a tourer, and not much inclined towards speeding, instantly decided on the Avenger over the other 2.

10 days later, I feel that I haven't made a wrong choice. The Avenger is a bean bag on wheels, more focussed on rider comfort and a decent cruising speed too, for me to go into new unexplored areas around me.

I'll give a detailed review after I ride it extensively around for about a 1000 or 2000 kms, which won't take long I guess :P

Congratulation on your wise decision well even I am sailing on the same boat but my pulsar 180 is 1 year old even I am planning to bug this bike but after a yesr . it just happened as one of my friend has just purchased this bike and he gave me his for a test ride.
As I took her and crushed it in 40 speed the bike was so good that I never wanted to give his bike to him. They have actually made the bike very smooth. Well yes he said that he had taken the bike at high speed where he saw the bike had some problem like rvm were vibrating, after 80 speed he felt some vibrations in the bike. But cruising at 35 to 50 speed the bike is a gem. Hope to have her parked outside soon.
Anyways I will be waiting for a full review. Good luck ride safe

                Hi all,

My avy 220 has been driven around 30k till now.Got it regularly serviced at authorized bajaj service centers.
Bike's Pick up has decreased compared to earlier..other than that no issues.
This time around when i went for service, they told me that engine valve needs to be cleaned which will cost extra 3k.
Then they will check clutch plate, which if replaced might cost around 1.5k.
                Service charges/oil change charges extra.
Should i go for engine valve check/cleaning or the clutch plate change?
                Are the charges nominal?

                  Hello,
                  The clutch plate costs 950/-.
Ya its necessary to change if not changed till now. I am not sure regarding the engine valve, but 3k is a bit higher value. Rather ask any local mechanic and check what cost he is charging.
I will never suggest you to go with bajaj oil, they have the worst oil. Go for Motul 7100. It will cost u 750/- per liter. Oil needs to be changed at intervals of 3000-4000 kms

Hi, Currntly using HH Splendor+ (11yrs old). Using it from 1 n half yr & want to shift on AVy.

I want to compare AVy with Splndr on following issues..

                      1. Suspensions
                      2. Breaks
                      3. Skiding
                      4. Pillion seat Comfort
                      5. Vibration

My first thought is, compared to Splendor, Avenger beats it in every area that you're concerned with. It is comfortable, it can take you and your pillion up to 60 without any much difficulty, if your pillion is fat they will not enjoy it (haha), it's a good bike to ride. I say go for it.
