Thus you can get more useful light without any tension of changing the wiring or sealbeam etc. However if you are really interested to upgrade the wattage of the headlamp you have to keep some points in mind.
1. Higher wattage headlight= Drawing of much higher current from your battery. Thus discharging of battery will be much faster. Hence the alternator will try to recharge the battery much faster and this will shorten the lifespan of your battery.
2. Higher wattage headlamp= Higher heat generation and the results may be horrible. You can crack your reflector and if it has the power of withstanding the heat it may be blackened after long time use. The wires may be melted and most horribly the starter switch contact may be melted.

Though technically you can upgrade to a higher watt headlamp, it will be somehow risky.
Now after a long speech of disheartening you there is a way also. You just have to get a generic automotive relay. What this relay will do? Well it will bypass the current drawn and thus it will save the starter contact. Though you must be careful enough while selecting the wire size and the fuse as the stock headlamp draws nearly 5.5-6 amp and the one you have mentioned(90/100 watt) will draw 7.5-8.5 amp current. So a reliable and knowledgeable mechanic is must.
Best of luck on your modification. Will look forward to get some pictures and feedback after your modification.
Thanks tat was some valuable info... Well i don't want spent much on hid kit..so its a no..plus police laws may prevent using it...
What about leds you say ? Wat type of led lights and where should i look for it ?

Is it possible to fit a kicker like the one on the 180 in the 220?

Please tell what to use for rust prevention on engine area & underbody.

Anybody?
I love bajaj. Just not its hair oil, engine oil & lighting.

Great. Happy riding bro.
I generally use kerosene and coconut oil mixture(Cheap and healthy) to prevent rusting of metal parts. But as you have mentioned I think it will not be your choice. So "Mr.Metal" polish will be good option for you. Apply it on the metal parts as directed and enjoy mirror like shine. There are some other brands also out there. Try the one that suits you the most.

Go to any good stores where you can buy car/bike electrical and electronics item and they will provide you all the information required. You can also opt for what you have mentioned before(Osram and Philips). They both are good. But I have heard that osram has a better life span than philips.

Time for repaint!!!
Its been 4 years since i bought the bike and the aluminum paint or plating has started to peel of from engine case. I would like to repaint my avenger with a company class theme paint like same plasma blue from bajaj sinve its an eye catcher than the rest and mainly some nickel chromium plating over engine case like the one shown in pic. Would also like to change handlebar.
Please i welcome all to suggest me some cool paint ideas if you have.

1. HID lamp kit - KDO - Rs.1,200
2. Dual horn - the stock was a bit pissweak; this one's louder but doesn't shatter eardrums - 250 bucks
3. Theft-protection alarm - 900/-, Indian one, looks tacky but at least has a manufacturer's warranty (though dunno what good that is if the bike gets stolen )
4. More comfy grips - 200/-
5. Enfield saddlebag - Rs.500/- from Khajanchi - there are two of them, one in a narrow lane, and one on a wide road. This was from the wide road.

Then went to the other Khajanchi; a full plush seat which also pads / widens pillion seat will cost Rs.800 - said he'll take 1 hour. Tried a sample he had there - heaven - feels like sitting on a (slightly firm) bean bag ! Also selected a handlebar which gives a wider grip (helps greatly in 180-degree turning from stop) - said he'll fit it with all the original cables - Rs.600 + 100/- for mechanic.

That's my 2-bit contribution for the day,

Now need some help - I need a mechanic in my area (Vasant Kunj or nearby) to whom I can take the bike for general tinkering / fittings - recommendations / PM's / emails welcome !
Can you show me the closeby pics of your seat and handlegrip ?

Wow. I think it'll be great to see the avenger in that colour. Please upload the photos after you have completed it.

Today i asked metal plating center about nickel plaging the engine...well said it cannot be done and wont last if evwn done...so dropped that idea..and planning for silver like pulsar engine color with black mix in between...
Well am confused with two bike color mainly
1.Maroon as shown early
2. Matt brown or chocolate brown as shown...

Should the exhaust be matt black with chromium plating or leave as stock as such

I think the maroon with the with the stock silencer will be killer as both the colour will shine like sun and if you are considering matt black silencer then go with the matt brown. This way can turn a lot of heads on road.

I too like the killer maroon/red wine look as you said...but am afraid that paint may go for scratches especially on petrol tank... As happening now on blue color on bike. Btw...one more color i forgot to upload...copper color...please comment abt it...your reply is valuable.. Thanks in advance

If you choose the copper with the black, it'll look awesome as it'll look like a vintage model. But I suggest not to go for the only copper as it'll look dull. But my vote will be towards that maroon one as it is really gorgeous. To prevent the scratches you can use the carnauba wax polishing. It'll protect the colour very well.

Hey bencherian, 1 question to you bro. What engine oil are you using on your avenger now and what is the most suitable you think? As till now I am not very confident on a single brand.

I am using this castrol power 1 worth around 400 per pack...its nice...smoother engine and sounds reduced...and smooth in long runs too.. But i would suggest Motul 5100 semi synth..cos i did not get this time...and gng on for next time... Valvoline 4t is also good... Make sure its semi synth oil..as semi synth do a better than mineral and can be changed around 3000
If gng for castrol check in there website about the authorized outlets to buy...as many fake castrol are there

Thanks bro. I have also heard the fact that castrol power1 has many duplicates. So I didn't go for them. Recently my mechanic suggested 'wurth' engine oil. It is around 311/lit. Waiting to see if any changes are there by using this engine oil as till now only ridden 30kms with the new oil.Click image for larger version
