Re: Bajaj Avenger - All versions
Yes. The shock needs drilling to widen the bottom end. But changing the setting of shocks to medium level made a good difference on my previously owned Avenger.Originally posted by Sal View Post

Re: Peculiar question
Thanks cruiserboy. I did raise a complain last week at bajaj and soon in an hour I got a call from service center. Service Center guys had my bike for 4 days and replaced the gear shaft. I have driven my bike for 30 km since then and did not find the gear shift problem. Though mechanic said if you would have driven the bike for next 2k-3k km the problem would have resolved itself. I have not changed engine oil yet and might prefer motul in future.

Anyways regarding your query, shock absorbers from the company "Endurance". The medium/small size would fit, though some adjustments might be required to put them in slot (its not really a direct fit). The had changed to Bullet's gas shocks as shown in the picture. The height increase you get from changing to these shocks will be only about an inch or two for the pillion. The ride quality has improved a LOT. It was a direct fit on my Avy.Originally posted by petrolhead_chn View PostYes. The shock needs drilling to widen the bottom end. The bike pulling towards a side could be due to bent forks, bent rims and uneven tire wear. However I would suggest you to check for bearings and check for calipers and disc plates as well. Change the fork cone which costs about 330/- and a half hour job.

Re: Peculiar question
Dude get your cone settings proper, for that u don't need to spend 2 days. It's a 15 mins job. You can get it done from Airoli. There are two bajaj one is Ekvira that's on road side and for the other one you have to come inside through the ally next to Dominoz. The SC which is located inside is a better one. They will do it in front of you. They took 10-15 mins to check reset my cone set.Originally posted by Aniruddha Shinde View PostI will upload the pic... But my bike is one year and 9000 kms old.. avenger rear drum
My bikes, rear drum is cracked a little bit due to some sort of impact (said by the mechanic ). The rear drum costs 2100/-, and i've found alloys till range of 4-5k.
Should i keep the stock look (spokes) , or install alloys?
Avenger 220 (2011 )
touring guy.
thank you in advance.

Brother, you are going to mess up one of best motorcycle head lamp in india...keep the stock its reliable than TBirds.. if greed is for more light change the bulb to a Halogen.Originally posted by Jitu Gadkari View Postcan i fit Thunderbird 500 headlamp on my avenger ?

Spokes are better in rough roads to absorb the impact, alloys could get cracked much more earlier than spokes...if you are about to install an alloy make sure you are getting the one with right quality.Originally posted by Jitu Gadkari View PostMy bikes, rear drum is cracked a little bit due to some sort of impact (said by the mechanic ). Re: Peculiar question
My Avenger is 2 years and 10 months old. It has run 37000 Kms till date. I was told during recent service that rear Tyre would last for another 3000 Kms . But, I should change the front Tyre at the earliest. I too can make out that Tyres are tired and need to be changed. Please suggest best Tyres with superior road grip for my beast.Last edited by experimentalhead; 04-09-2014, 05:42 PM.

Re: Peculiar question
I'M sure you'll get Pirelli 'route' tyres of the same size as stock from a good tyre shop-they are costlier than the stock MRF though.Originally posted by experimentalhead View PostMy Avenger is 2 years and 10 months old.
