150cc is good enough to take you to any long rides. It is best suited for 50-60 KMPH. But on Highways you can cruise till 70KMPH easily.
150cc engine also is tried and tested. It is a Pulsar engine with more torque.
Since Avenger is a Cruiser with fat tyres, the mileage will be little less than any other 150cc motorcycles in market. But if you can compromise around 5 KMPL over your comfortable riding, you can go for it.Originally posted by arjunb25 View PostHi yeah you can buy the 150 cc it's a very good bike even I have it which I normally use for City riding. The initial fuel efficiency which I was getting was 38 as it was the new engine and now after the first service I am getting around 45 and I am expecting after the third or maybe 4th service I would be getting around 50 + I advise the 150cc to alot of people for going for 150 cc in comparison to D 220 cc if you have to ride in city the back pain problem which you have shared with us well on Avenger you will not face this problem as this bike has been made in such a way in which one feels relaxed either in city or on the highway.
Now buddy go ahead and get your seed and we shall be looking forward for your new bike to come do post some snaps and share with us suppose in future if you have any problems we are here to guide you in any manner all the best and good luck ride safe.
Appreciate your response
I am buying Avenger 150 soon.. was also getting 2nd thoughts for Bajaj V, but have finally made up my mind for Avenger 150.
Hope its a good decisionLast edited by Arpit Mehta; 03-06-2016, 12:36 AM.

Re: Bajaj Avenger - All versions
Hi Arjun,
Thanks for the wishes 😊😊.
I didnt encounter backache as such, may be because am a regular gym going guy. 😀
I would say manoeuvring at the tight corners is not as easy as my Old Pulsar 150.
It would take a bit of practise to tame this wild horse as am relatively new to the cruiser bike.
HEADLAMPS are good but not good enough to spear the eyes of those idiots who dont even know that there is a dim-dip switch in their vehicles 😨
P.S: I Somehow feel that Avenger Cruise handle bar design is far better than Avenger streets.

The grip on it lasting...i think its hard compound rubber used...i got it from snapdeal for a price of 3300rs...well am searching for other 140or130/90-15 companies... If you know please tell that
2.front tyre is michelin sport 90/90-17... Which is indeed one of finest grip tyre... Don't be doubtful seeing its grip... Provides great bite...and i can confidently lean the bike sideways...until foot rest hits on road... You can imagine how will be that..
3..regarding chain...we have to set the chain a little loose than stock...its best if u sit on the bike and set the chain..bcos as we sit on gas shocks... The bike sits down and chain gets stretched... If u have usual pillion rider ask him or her too to sit and adjust the chain...a great difference can be felt...
Attached pic is taken few days back...i bought the tyre one year before... So you can still see the grip
Thanks.

The tread pattern of the IRC is totally different from the Nylogrip with the IRC having staggered swipes at the center too-pic attached-do not have access to the new TVS tyre pics yet

Re: Bajaj Avenger - All versions
Got my first service done ... The pickup has gone down and the mileage has increased from 40 to 50 kmpl, but i feel the lack of power, not good for confident overtaking , the rear shockabsorbers are very bad, they hit hard...Last edited by ramndharu; 03-09-2016, 01:18 AM.

FUEL economy update:
My 2 weeks old AVY 220 Street returned a whooping economy of 47kmpl. Again I tried tank dry to dry method. Fuel price in Mangalore is 57.65 per litre now.
Had filled Rs. 500 worth of petrol( Normal) from HP and tank dried exactly at 407.4kms.
TOTAL Odo reading is 588kms now.
Will take it to the first service by friday.
By the way, I am blessed with a baby girl on International womens day i.e 8th march 2016 😊😊😊

Thank you mate!! 😀😬😬
Happy and lucky dad + proud owner of Avenger 220 street.
How much are u getting on ur Avy 220 and which model bike is yours nd whats the odo reading now..?
I already made 3 trips to Karkala (MIL's town).
This mileage of 47kmpl which I got was in 30%city and 70% state highway (Curvy geeen route) conditions.
My riding style is like a college going guy on his RX 1OO though am 31yrs old now 😆.
I was constantly riding between 70-100kmph on the highway and in city like a teenager (RX 100 Style) but still my BULL managed to return 47kmpl.
Awesome Avy boy🙌💖!!!
