Its running flawlessly! The front wheel can be done in the same way too but he chose not to tamper with that right now and instead go do a trial with the tubeless setup made of stock tyres, about a month now and its still working fine!
Brother please please tell your brother to put back the tube as my elder brother runs a prestigious showroom of tyres here I in Allahabad. What he told I am telling all of you here. What happens when we use a tyre which is having a tube tyre and we remove the tube making it a tubeless which in real world it is not. See at the time of puncture takes plases the chances of accident increases 100 times as the gitti inside the tyre does not support was it is a non tubeless tyre which does not have the same lining as we get in tubeless. So my brother says a big no no to this procedure. Even I was going to do the same thing with my bike then what he told me had logic. Hence I am now waiting for bajaj to come up with some remedy. Well I have got celent put in the bike which is working fine in the rear but I have changed the front with tubeless tyres. 90/90 which is easily available in the market.
At the end of the day I would suggest just one word there in no remedy for the rear tyre other than the celent. Like we get in Honda bikes.

Thanks for the detailed insight Arjun, so, you are essentially saying that if we get sealant applied on the inner lining of the rear tyre only then we can use it as a Tubeless variety?

also which make and model tyre did you get to make the front Tyre tubeless?

That I am unaware of, which is why I put up a message regarding the "stock tyre tubeless setup" on this thread about a week back but did not get any response, today is the first time I got a clear response of what might happen and what are the risks of this setup from brother Arjun.

No brother putting the selent inside the tube. I have not removed the tube. Also I am using 90/90 r17 of mrf zapper fs. I don't know the price as my brother has not told me. A gift maybe. But seriously I have asked every dealer or manufacturer for tubeless to avanger rear 0 a big 0 from all. Sorry sir we don't make 130/90 tubeless. Dam seriously.
Also I learnt you don't know about a puncture kit for tubeless. See it on youtube. I have got it done thrice on my old pulsar 180. This avanger is my 6 bike. I have been ridding bikes and scooters since 22 years now. I hold a good experience on them. Specially bajaj. All the best enjoy your seeds.

Actually, you got me wrong, I know what a puncture kit is, but AbhiAvvy Bro was asking if a tube tyre can be fixed with a tubeless puncture repair kit, to which I responded unsurely, cz after what you said about tube tyres I am unsure how these tyres will react to a puncture wound.

But thanks for the info bro, I will tell my brother today to replace the tube in the rear tyre. I had also read on various websites that bajaj is working on a tubeless tyre variant, I hope and pray that its true and we get it soon.

P.S. can you please point me in the right direction regarding a rear tube sealent, as to where can I get one and what is the procedure of it?

          • Tapping noise on Idling

            Hello all,

I am the proud owner of Avenger street 220 from last 3 months and the odo reads 3900+ kms. I was in love with the mild thump bike makes on idling until I had a roadtrip to Mysore from bangalore in which I got chance reach 100 kms/hr on some occasions. Since then bike has developed a wierd tapping sound during idling and low speeds. My old bike Tvs Apache 150 used make similar sound because it had some minor cracks in exhaust pipe. I suspect that cannot be the reason with Avenger since its only 3 months old.

Kindly request to the experts in the group to shed some light on the issue.

Buddy you call your self a calm rider good keep it up. Doing speed of 100 that's calm wow. Calm is 40-50 speed. Good for the bike and good for us. 100 sometimes for fun for few seconds. As this is a cruiser not a racer. Enjoy it. Respect it the bike will also respect you alot. Trust me.
It is pretty obvious to hit 100 sometimes in highway... my average speed is 50kmph.

Have you checked the spark plug? Make sure that both the spark plugs are properly fitted.

I am no expert but I think both you and awesomearkoofficial have the same problem. If it isn't the spark plug then the tappet valve clearance should be checked as the mild metallic sound is mostly originated from those tappet valves.

Guys I am confused in convincing a friend. He is insisting on buying a royal enfield classic 350cc where as I am telling him to go for the 220cc street instead. Now there is a big debate.
What all I told him was the usual trouble with royal. It is a bike with full pride one has to keep the bike running not leave and forget. Alot of problems with the machine. See maintainance is there with every machine I agree on the fact but in royal one has to be on the toes and keep his mechanic handy everytime.
Rusting problem is number 1 in it. Well as for avy it is a bike which you ride and forget. Just enjoy the bike. How many of you would agree on this.
For him I have read the whole blog of royal enfield 350.

Having a Royal enfield bike was my dream when I was young. I used to hear that dug dug sound every time an enfield passed by me and still now I hear that sound with that much intense and hope to have that sound in my bike too. But that's it, I want nothing more than the sound. When I have planned to buy a bike I have started researching about bikes and that time the Royal enfield was on the top of my list. But gradually the more I researched the less greedy I became about having an enfield. Today only the sound of an enfield attracts me, because I have heard and seen too much problems with the enfields. I will neither compare avenger with Royal enfield nor will I force someone to get avenger or any other bike instead of Royal enfield but one thing I can tell for sure that I will never buy any existing models, that Royal enfield is providing currently.(Except Himalayan, as it too new to comment.)

                              Hello Everyone,

I would like to fix additional lights (LED's) to my Avenger 220 Street. I need some suggestions.

Reason for me to go for extra lighting: I work in the night shifts, while returning home at 2 AM - 3 AM timings, sometimes I feel that the current lighting system is not sufficient, especially someone comes in front with a heavy and high beam lights. That time I felt like, at least I should have extra lighting to understand and see my road edges. So please suggest me.

                              1. Any Brand which you can suggest?
                              2. Is the current Battery sufficient to go for extra lighting (preferably LED lights)?
                              3. Any other things which I should be checking and cautious while fixing it?

Thank you, looking forward for your suggestions.

                                Hey Guys,

I am not really a fan of RE classic 350 (NO offence meant for RE lovers ). Sorry in advance if u feel offended after reading my post.

I just want to post some straight forward opinion about RE classic 350 "Hyped motorcycle" through my personal experiences.

In the past couple of years, I have had a chance to ride RE classic 350 from Mangalore on multiple tours to Panchgani, Bangalore, kodachadri, chikmagalur, kudremukh, Sakleshpur and many more short tours.

I would like to share some of the incidents from a couple of trips:

Bangalore trip - I borrowed this bike from my friend. My Cousin was riding a pillion in this 1k kms up&down trip. We were just carrying a couple of tshirts and jeans in one back pack. I heard him literally begging to stop the bike in the first 100 kms of ride. Reason was - very uncomfortable pillion seating position and the IRON handle bar in the back which was regularly hitting his lower back bone. His reaction in the first stop itself was like " Dude, I have ridden as a pillion on a splendor to MUMBAI (2.5kms round trip) but it was not so painful or tiring or uncomfortable like this bike".
One can imagine how many breaks we had to take because of this pillion seating position.

Panchgani trip - we started from Mangalore at 7:00Am. It was almost 2k kms round trip. The owner of the bike himself was my riding partner. He is big RE fan himself for no reason.
This was his first long trip on his RE classic.
This time we had 2 big backpacks.
One was left on the tank to rest and the other one was hanging by pillions back.
Pillion riding experience and complaints were same as the above BANGALORE trip.
After dragging ourself out of the crazy traffic/ dust/ diversions till kumta we finally took a right turn and entered the Sakleshpur ghat section.
We had already taken arnd 5 breaks in first 250 kms.. 😠
We finally made it to the expresshighway and forcefully riding with pain in our A$$ to avoid more pit stops and reach panchgani atleast by 9:00pm.
On the express highway we were able to touch 120kmph max speed at times but it takes forever to reach that mark from 80kmph. " Yawn 😥😥😥"
In one of the tea breaks - my friend, big time RE fan himself had to say this "Its comfortable to cruise at 60-80kmph and anything beyond that is like putting ur hands in the electric transformer 😡". His expression was speaking volumes about his wrong decison of buying this bull.

                                Not one word of appreciation.
Ok now third experience which was the decider for me to select my own bike after this trip.

                                Kodachadri trip - This time we took 5 bikes. 2 Fz's, 1 AVY 220, 1 NS 200 and same RE classic 350.
In this trip we were exchanging bikes every 100kms and I got to ride both AVY 220 (2014) and RE Classis 350 ( 2014) back to back. I was never intrested in FZ 'S or NS 200.

I can confidently say RE classic 350 is no where even closer match to Avy 220's pickup, topspeed, comfort -both riding and pillion or even the feel good factor of riding from within.

Apart from these 3 experiences I have couple of points which adds to the negativity of the bike:
                                - Relatively high breakdowns.
                                - Jaw dropping maintenace cost.
                                - very ordinary build quality (Rusting of parts and skinning out of paint job at the brim of the fuel tank)
                                - Poor pick up and top speed (350 cc, Really? Where has all the power gone!!!)
                                - Vibrations, similar to the wash machines drier!!

Now the reason why I am posting this.
Am sure many of you have this question on mind.. 😦😨
Ok, let me come to the point here.. My younger brother wants to buy this Machine and I am trying to stop him from taking this above mentioned problem home for a hefty amount of 1.5lkhs.
As if life is without Ups and downs already.

I really need a couple of humble opinions and realistic reasons to buy this bike.
                                Anybody please?
Please dont reply just for the sake of argument as all the above mentioned things are through my personal experiences.

P.S: Only thing I liked about RE classic 350 was its "headlamp" throw but this is not a reason good enough to buy a bike.

                                Thanks,
