Hello guys, after upgrading thru various variants of Pulsar 150, I recently bought a pre-worshiped Bajaj Avenger 2014 model run 23000 kms. Using it since last fortnight. While the bike is in pristine condition, it used to knock on long trips. Replaced the spark plugs today with Brisk AR10S silver moto on the left side and NGK CPR8EGP-9 on the right side. Problems like sudden engine switching off and knocking after hot engine has gone now. Pick up has marginally increased and best thing is driving at lower speeds is comfortable now. Also, I feel the front tyre is puny for the bike and want to go in for stock AS 200 tyre 100/80 R17 MRF. Is it a worthwhile upgrade?

150 street, oil leakage after 2nd service and oil replacement, found new bajaj service center few days ago, excellent mechanics, changed seal at gear shaft, oli leak again, they exmine bike carefully and opened natural gear sensor and fitted it again with new packing, problem solved, writing for people who have frequent oil leak problems in new avenger and old pulsar 150.

Re: Bajaj Avenger - All versions
Well today while cleaning I noticed this. What I am guessing is that this would be some drops comming out from the chain. I have cleaned that area shall see it after a few days otherwise I shall do something about this. As it has been more than 10 days I lubed the chain with motul chain lube. Let's see shall share my review of the leak if at all it is there on my bike. Odo done 1500.Originally posted by Parimal_ajudiya View Post150 street, oil leakage after 2nd service and oil replacement, found new bajaj service center few days ago, excellent mechanics, changed seal at gear shaft, oli leak again, they exmine bike carefully and opened natural gear sensor and fitted it again with new packing, problem solved, writing for people who have frequent oil leak problems in new avenger and old pulsar 150.click me

Yup. That's also what I've heard of. Grease is the cheapest as well as strenuous way to lube the chain. Also it doesn't last longer and welcomes the dirt with open hands.Originally posted by arjunb25 View PostMotul chain lube is the best chain lube I have ever come across using it since decade now. Can't even think of going to some other one

Heard from the mechanic during this serivice that for a 150 cc just grease is enough.. thats what he said?..Originally posted by AbhiAvvy13 View PostYup. That's also what I've heard of. Re: Bajaj Avenger - All versions
I think the lubing of chain doesn't depends upon the cubic capacity of the bike. May be grease is the most conventional way for lubing but it's not convenient. And for longer rides chain spray is the most preferred option as you can apply that even in the middle of the road.Originally posted by ramndharu View PostHeard from the mechanic during this serivice that for a 150 cc just grease is enough.. thats what he said?..Phoenix Came, Saw and Conquer My Heart, Forever...

Hi all
After all the support received from this forum, have purchased the Cruse 220 and yes its indeed "Feel like God"
It took me some time to get adjusted to the siting posture ( coming from Pulsar ) however after two weeks now my body got adjusted..
soon will share the pics
the only problem that i observed is Petrol gets leaked from the tank when i do the full tank, ride for couple of kms and park on side stand, rest all looks good

Sorry my problem was from carburetor this is serious problem get it checked. If others get the problem from fuel coming out from there carburetor then the solution I have already given. Just saw your snap zooming it. That's serious.Originally posted by raj2989 View PostHi all

Same problem I faced with m my 150cc. For this just go to your asc and tell your best mechanic to open your carburetor and just change the fluit pin. If they give warranty well and good fight for it otherwise it is just for 150 rs. Nothing else after this you will observe no problem. Just don't let him mess with the carburetor setting for now. If at all you observe a hickup problem then only co% setting should be done in which the carburetor needs to be adjusted. As the company is giving it's setting to very low just to check average but the feeling to a customer with no fuel is there even if one has a full tank is there.
No issues just do this your problem will be solved shall we looking forward for a Happy News from your end.

I think it's a leak is from the gasket of chrome finished upper tank part. That's not a big deal. If you are topping up to the brim then don't put the bike on side stand. Use the main stand and problem solved.Originally posted by raj2989 View PostHi all

Re: Bajaj Avenger - All versions
raj2989 You better get it rectified.
This issue doesnt look to me as normal or simple from any angle.
Its not water to ignore such issues. Its a liquid petroleum gas. Highly flammable.
If it can drip out then it can vapour out and dry your tank as well.
Why take a chance with your new bike. "Chaltha hai" attitude is risky here.
All the best👍

Re: Bajaj Avenger - All versions
So finally completed our 400kms trip this saturday.
It was a wonderful ride.
We were 9 people on 5 different bikes.
Avenger 220 Street
RS 200
NS 200
Suzuki Gixxer
Yamaha Fz
We all gathered near out office at 6:30am. By 6:45 all were present and at sharp 7:00am we started.
Route taken was Mangalore-madikeri-Chelavara water falls-Nalnakad palace-Bhagamandala-Talacauvery forest reserve-khananghad-Kasargod-Mangalore.
We reached mangalore at 11pm sharp.
Not a good time to ride I must say as even the hill stations on the western ghats are dried up due to drought.
Only thing we enjoyed was some enthusiastic riding at arrow straight highways, pit stop jokes and wonderful dinner at Kasargod.
Sharing some pics.
Enjoy☺☺Last edited by sshariq; 04-24-2016, 11:18 PM.

Re: Bajaj Avenger - All versions
Completed 4500 km in my Avenger 150..
Last week Planned a ride to Bandipur from Appakudal, a village where i work, 40 km from sathyamangalam.
Started early by 5.am in the morning and stopped at a place called Athani, 5 km from the place i live.. Had a cup of coffee, reached Bannari , Bannari amman temple is a well known temple, people pray for safe journey into the jungles. After that entering into mysore road , a lot has changed.
The road, a decade back was full of dirt and pot holes but now totally transformed into a smooth super road. Awesome ride into the jungles and then came Dhimbam ghat section. Avenger was butter smooth in climbing up the hill .
Reached Charmrajnagar.. Google maps was showing my way to take a left.. saw a signboard to Ooty 70km, i then thought i should visit Ooty too. The road from Charmrajnagar to Gundelpet was little bumpy. Gundelpet to Bandipur was an amazing drive. Finally reached Bandipur .
Finally found that the safari is from 6.30 to 9.30. I reached there by 10.a.m. So with disapointment left Bandipur.
Passed Karnataka forest checkpost and entered into Tamilnadu, it was Mudumalai. Rode along the roads were narrow and the edges were steep.
Stopped for tea in Masinagudi. Reached Ooty had some homemade chocolates, rode down to conoor, Mettupalayam then sthyamangalam then back to home.Last edited by ramndharu; 04-25-2016, 02:13 PM.
