Re: Bajaj Avenger - All versions
Hello all! I have a small but critical question.
A month back, I bought an used avenger 220 cruise (Jan 2016 make) with 19500 Kms on the odo. After i got the bike, i did an Engine oil replacement (Motul 7100 4T). Till today, it has only run about 1000kms with the new oil.
Now I have to change the clutch plate since it is giving me problems. My questions are:
1. If i change the clutch, do i need to put in new oil again (service guy says it's necessary) or can i re-use the one i am having?
2. If it is necessary to change the oil, should i put in semi-synthetic or synthetic? I already have a bottle of Motel left with me (since Avenger needs 1.2L of oil).
3. I am doing the servicing from Castrol Bike Zone, since Bajaj service center here in Bangalore have a poor track record. Castrol bike zone mechanic says clutch plate is priced around 1600. Is it correct?

Bajaj Avenger street 220
As a first timer, i know very little about motorcycles. I recently got a problem with my avenger. It hasn't been running quite well. It's running as if it didn't get fuel supply or running out of gas. No pickup. Dies constantly. i went to bajaj service center as i still have free service but they could do nothing about it. Anyone with the same issue? Can somebody help me

hi
Oil change is required because old oil can get contaminated when removed. So removed oil before opening clutch plate and store in clean container. Fill new oil after clutch plate work and use the old oil for top up or for emergency.

hi
From pic its looks like fog lamps have old style bulb and wattage should be 35-45 watts each.

Thanks for your comments, yes, I love this bike with Gold!.
I ride in city and Highways. I get mileage around 38-42 range. Till not no maintenance is required apart from engine oil. Oil seal was replaced last month.
Spares are easily available and cost is also reasonable. This bike is not spares hungry, just give her proper attention like any girl.
