  • ^^hmm....Honda does have 5 factory riders...., gresini has full factory support....

How serious is Honda about winning the 2011 MotoGP World Championship? At Team Gresini's MotoGP launch at Monza today, it was quietly confirmed that the San Carlo Honda Gresini squad has been given the keys to the candy store, turning the team into a factory-backed effort. While Marco Simoncelli was already assured factory support from Honda for the 2011 season, the move adds Hiroshi Aoyama to the factory rider list, and likely makes Gresini's life infinitely less complex by not having to manage between a factory and non-factory split garage.

    coming from fausto gresini himself
"What we have now is a factory team 100% - Fausto Gresini said enthusiastically - and I feel much more official than I have in the past, in terms of Honda's openness towards us: now we have access to all the Honda data, and Honda has placed some of its personnel on our team. If you look inside our garages, you will understand that we are a factory team."

Agreed it can get all the access and facilities similar to that of Honda's..and even better this year...they are going to get Honda's engineers and the datas from the factory team...but still Repsol Honda is the official factory team for Honda ! ! !
Nothing feels better than to gear up and burn some rubber ! ! !

Lorenzo has taken the lollipop out of his mouth and just crying because Spies is much faster than him and he is seeing a probability of being beaten regularly by him in the races , I'm just loving it.
Don't be in such a hurry to write off Lorenzo. Have a look at the full stint times, he is faster and a lot more consistent than Spies.
All riders fall; some get back on, some don't, some can't...

The problem with the Desmosedici is...the ECU mapping and the electronics are as such..that a rider has to adapt to it..which is very much unlike compared to the rest of the bikes on the grid...earlier melandri bng a such a good rider..struggled with the bike a lot....so rossi have to adapt to the bike fast ! ! ! ...and their cornering stability and the front end grips also used to be a big concern...so lets c ! ! !

          • So, it begins this Sunday!

I agree, it's too early to right-off any of the top 5-6 riders. Wait for atleast 5 races into the season and then we'll start to get a picture of who's going where...

Not denying Spies' potential at all. Infact I am quite in awe of his getting up to speed literally.
But its a little too early for Lorenzo to feel the heat.

Afterall you don't become a champ if you not good and to top it, he beat Rossi with the same equipment.

The real scenario(Lorenzo-rossi) in these two cases can be differnet from what is evident ! ! !..two cases -
                1.Rossi got injured
2.In the later/mid stages..yamaha were modifying their bikes which will be more compatible wid Jorge style of riding ! ! !..coz Lorenzo is their future star ! ! !

No doubt jorge got all the potential to be World champion...no questions asked...the point is he has got rivals too who are capable to take him head on...unlike Rossi's golden era...where he was the ultimate champion ! ! !

                  Wow Pls explain.

And so if i understand it right ! Rossi beat Jorge in Japan in a machine compatible to Jorge and he came back from 12 - 13 pos in Sepang to win in one one his best races ever and yes riding with a injured shoulder ( as he said ) on a machine compatible to Jorge ?

Or Rossi s bike was not changed and Yamaha were making bike compatible for Jorge after 3 years of riding a machine compatible to Rossi ?
                  BAYLISSTIC !!!!

Or Rossi s bike was not changed and Yamaha were making bike compatible for Jorge after 3 years of riding a machine compatible to Rossi (As I said earlier...Jorge is yamaha's future ! ! !...he is young...got potential up to if not beyond Rossi's...and on the contrary Rossi is getting old too...every team aspires for a Young star...and if they have to retain jorge for a longer period of say 5 years...then they have to abide by his terms ! ! !...Thats the politics which usually happens within a team..and masses are unaware of that ! ! !...but if u follow real close...inch by inch..analyze every data after a race...u can figure it out ! ! !...)?
                    Dude..Thats what i meant..ppl go by which is evident to them ! ! !...

Just chk the Qualifying times at sepang ! ! !....Lorenzo took pole ! ! !..and rossi in 6th ! ! !....that clearly differentiates the pace of their bikes ! ! !....And qualifying times can be considered to judge a bikes's potential..given the riders have the equal caliblre to extract the last juice out of it ! ! !..which Rossi and Jorge both have ! ! !

and I tell u racing is different prospect..and take my words...even if u are provided wid the best bike of the world...still u cant be sure u gonna win..unless u got the racing talent ! ! !..few have them..n rossi is the master of all...and ppl have seen him over the years and have learned it ! ! !...

U can take pole thru out the season..but that doest gurantee u to be a world champion ! ! !...coz u need to be a good racer..with the right instincts to win a race....which rossi has it an inch better than Jorge ! ! !..thats why rossi always was able to strangle him in the corners ! ! !..

and again i forgot to mention...Race pace is different for a rider than his qualifying pace ! ! !....n Rossi race pace were always beyond nebody's capabilities...if u can recal..there have been some races where his Yamaha didnt feel like close to the front runners in qualifying....but later in the races he wld have finished ahead of his qualifying position...

i hope u can relate all the theories above to figure it out ! ! !

                      • Excerpt from Spies interview on the official website:
"Everything has gone really smoothly in the tests, I have to saya that i'm more of a racer than a tester so i'm pretty impatient now to get to it and see what we can do."
He is gonna make someone cry

Well this is the only time Rossi has had a quality team and Lorenzo has run Rossi close in the past seasons as well.

Not sure what you mean by ultimate champion. I reckon Rossi's never had competition like there is now. Now we have the likes of Dani P, Casey S and Jorge L fighting for the championship.

I've never rated Hayden, Sete G (one of my fav) and Max Biaggi (love him too) at the same level as the 4 guys above.

Answers in blue(for the ultimate champion)....xactly my point...and same feelings..except Sete...Love Max Biaggi ! ! !......Thats why he was the Ultimate champion in that Era ! ! !...when these youngsters had not arrived.....

and dont forget..Rossi is still the benchmark..and that declares him as a Champion ! ! !...these guys are competetive(and by the way i am not a hard core Rossi fan...I admire his talent...but hate his cunning moves ! ! !)....but their benchmark was rossi...whn they arrived at the scene ! ! !.....So the bar was raised as compared to those days of Max,sete, lorris, alex etc etc...

Can some one tell me the channel and the timings for all the races (MotoGP, MotoGP2 ,125) including the races for qualifiers also?

I already checked the site like tv.burrp or sulekha , but did not get all the timings..
