not my original comment. part of it from motomatters article comments.

Edit: Answering my own question. I think they will be as the engine is also not a production one but a prototype.
how many bikes are allowed in motogp per season, i guess 3.

I believe Rossi vs Stoner should be decided by rossi's final championship position....if Rossi finishes 4th then he would be at par with Casey.., casey did it "high risk-high gain" and Doc would do it theother way....

      • With fillipo's answers in the interview after the brno test, i don't think he's looking for aluminum as a solution.

I think they are working on the frame in a different manner, his comment of "we are working for the future" makes me think that the ideal chassis (with different stiffness on different parts, and get it right) is on its way.

They do have the best engine when it comes to straight line. I think they'll keep carbon fiber, as they've been testing different setups in 78~80 laps on both the bikes.
If they ever had to change the frame for next year, they wouldn't waste their (seriously running short) engines on a test which would turn useless on a different frame.

Its just a matter of time before they get it RIGHT.
        Lets see.

        • i do not exactly agree with you, even if they want their carbon frame chasis to get success, still they can't risk everything on it, so it is quite possible that they may be devoloping an aluminium chasis side-by-side, without revealing it to media.

or it may be possible that they can get it designed by some external designing house.

Yes, ducati has said that carbon fiber is the way forward but they are going to try the aluminium frames coz they want to see how and where the aluminium frame experiences stress and bents so that they can exactly replicate it to their carbon fiber design.Right now the only way they can get any info on this is through the riders inputs. Also rossi almost his whole racing career has been riding on the twin spar frame,so they are hoping for it to give them immediate success untill they can properly develop the carbon fiber design. They need to keep their sponsors happy or else its going to get even worse for them.

Its there on both the TenSports network which includes Ten Sports, Neo Sports and Ten Action, as well as ESPN STAR network. But usually and especially on Star network its got a really low priority, so if there is any other live sport going on, chances are they will keep shuffling it.

On the race day look at the channels mentioned above and you will find the race coming on at least one of them.
Reg the time of the race, if the race is in Europe, you can be fairly certain its gonna be starting at around 2:15 PM sunday noon. It will differ though based on whether daylight saving is on or not !! For other places like US, Australia, Qatar time will be different.

                          • Bridgepoint Close To Sealing Deal For Infront, But MotoGP And WSBK Likely To Remain Separate | MotoMatters.com | Kropotkin Thinks

The deal which will see Bridgepoint Capital, the parent company of MotoGP series owner Dorna, take over Infront Sports and Media, the owners of the World Superbike series, is nearing completion. It is widely expected that Bridgepoint will finalize the purchase of Infront by the end of this month, though the contracts have yet to be signed. The price that Bridgepoint will pay for Infront is not know, though the Financial Times reported earlier that bids of between 600 million and 1 billion euros had been entered for the Swiss-based company, with Bridgepoint holding off the sovereign wealth funds from both Qatar and Abu Dhabi to clinch the deal.
