Honda may have the acceleration and straight line speed.... But it is Yamaha which has good mid corner speed and corner entry.. The problem with yesterday's race was the problem in Yamaha's late braking Jorge was not able to brake as late as Dani which was the main strength of Yamaha and also when you see the uphill acceleration you should also see the rider mass Dani is the smallest rider and that final pass up the hill was sheer because of his size, acceleration of Honda and the most important Lorenzo made a mistake not blocking the line of Dani..... Last year Honda was really hard to beat but this season Yamaha and Honda are equally matched.... If Honda had the real power over Yamaha then Dani would have flew away once he made the pass on Lorenzo.....Originally posted by princesirohi View Postyamaha is down on power. i feel right now the most powerful bike and fastest bike on yhe grid is factory honda. yamaha is good in handling, but when it comes to power and speed in tight situations in final lap, honda may have an edge.

neither had the pace to fly away, neither dani nor lorenzo. because both were strong in certain parts of ckt. and a bit weak in other. yamaha has good speed in corners whereas honda has a slight edge in power. so i was saying. if only yamaha can increase their power little bit, it will be an almost perfect bike.

Yes, the straight line speed is the big problem in Yamaha YZR-M1Originally posted by princesirohi View Postneither had the pace to fly away, neither dani nor lorenzo. because both were strong in certain parts of ckt. and a bit weak in other. yamaha has good speed in corners whereas honda has a slight edge in power. so i was saying. if only yamaha can increase their power little bit, it will be an almost perfect bike.

yes, even the commentator mentioned it, during the race. but i seriously doubt it, it was said in a lighter vein.Originally posted by Braumabull View PostSeemed like no one wanted to Run away. Each of them wanted the other person to score a zero.
Filmy aint it? Dunno how far its true
i think lorenzo allowed dani to overtake, just to have a look at his rear tyre, to know how much is left in dani, but that proved to be a big mistake later on, as dani made it very difficult for lorenzo to overtake him.

Can we get one thing cleared out?
2012 YamahaM1 is not down on power. 2011 M1 was down on power(800CC).
Cross plane crankshaft engine will never be an equal to Honda's V4.
Honda's advantage lies in the mid end torque which helps it accelerate out of the corners better than the M1.
That was the reason why Honda was so good in the sector 3 of Brno which includes a lot of elevation changes and a uphill section.
Jorge knew that and he tried to breakaway immediately on the final lap after he passed Dani. But Dani stuck to him like a fly and used the honda's advantage to his.

Rae improved by about .6 seconds from Tuesday..I think he might be in front of or battling with Rossi if this is his pace during the next race.
Btw he's also confirmed to replace Stoner in the next race.
Jorge trying a new chassis and engine. Yamaha's this year are all stuggling with engine management. All four Yamaha's are running their 5th engine already with 6 races still to go.Last edited by R-series; 09-06-2012, 02:42 AM.Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.
