Re: MotoGP 2015 Season - Updates
Really delighted to see pedrosa on the top step. It was a massive relief to see rossi finishing ahead of lorenzo.
There is no destination, I just want to keep riding.

I like this season.
You don't have to win all the races to be a champion. Consistent podium finishes even if it's third pays off eventually.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

As far as I know, it mainly bcoz of:Originally posted by nirvaana View PostFront tire conditions of Rossi and Dani were alike then why Dani did not see a massive drop in lap times? Can someone explain pls?
1. Dani maintained his tyres very well in the beginning. While Lorenzo sped off in the initial laps and heated his tyres bcoz of drying track. He didn't have any grip at all towards the end. According to experts, Jorge should've slowed down instead of speeding off. It's a very basic concept for a drying track. What Jorge said in defence was that, "you never know when the weather might change. Now it's drying. Next moment it might rain. So u hv to be at ur 100% always."
2. Also, the main reason is that Yamaha's rely a lot on front tyre and engine braking for stopping power which degrades the front tyre, while Dani was very clever in using his rear brakes more for stopping the bike which preserves the front tyres. Also, don't forget this race was won bcoz of the Front tyres.

Re: MotoGP 2015 Season - Updates
Because they weren't; at the end they all looked equally destroyed, but Lorenzo's and Rossi's had reached that point several laps earlier than Pedrosa's, and that's what made the difference during the last laps of the race. Pedrosa had to make only the last lap on finished tires. What jack_daniels says is correct regardng why Lorenzo finished his tires first, Rossi second and Pedrosa third; I may add that Lorenzo only uses his front brakes, never the rear, and that didn't help him much either.Originally posted by nirvaana View PostFront tire conditions of Rossi and Dani were alike then why Dani did not see a massive drop in lap times? Obviously Agree to above..
Just to add one small pointer, Jorge's bike had the winglets while the others didint
So more down force on the frontwet tyres, thereby degrading them quicker on a drying track!sigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.
Only thing I can say - "The storm is coming"

Adding to that, Dani didnt push in the early stages. Also when the track started to dry, Dani took the wet line keeping the tyres cool. Rossi did the same and was able to preserve it better than Lorenzo. Lorenzo however stuck to the dry line which shredded his rubber.
Dani also weighs less and is quite small compared to Rossi and Lorenzo, that doesn't put as much pressure on the tyres as in the case of taller riders.
Whatever, be the case it is proved once again Rossi was the intelligent rider. He maintained 3.5 secs gap and was able to capitalise on that when circumstances changed. Lorenzo may be faster however, I am sure he can learn something from Valentino who may be old, but definitely not obsolete.
Cant wait for the Dr to claim his 10th title. That too in an era of aliens like MM, JL, DP and so on.Last edited by chinmayakar; 10-13-2015, 05:14 PM.

Re: MotoGP 2015 Season - Updates
Difficult to tell for sure, -- but considering how much Lorenzo pushed in the first half of the race, there is no need to look for additional causes to explain his higher tire wear. My 5 cents is, that the winglets are designed to keep the bike's nose down during acceleration: but in the braking phase (which is where the front wears out) the bike is brutally pushed down all the way, almost instantly, so the winglets are probably irrelevant then.Originally posted by Shibadip View PostObviously Agree to above..

That explains to a considerable extent why the Honda's of Hayden, Laverty and Miller suffered so greatly in comparison to the satellite Honda's of Redding and Crutchlow. As Hayden said, these bikes were designed to run with seamless gearboxes and without that they were greatly neutered.Originally posted by Makky View PostBiking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!
