Re: MotoGP 2015 Season - Updates
Valentino Rossi wins at Silverstone and takes a healthy 12 point lead in the championship over Lorenzo, while Marquez crashes out. Petrucci's satellite Ducati takes a podium in the wet, while Jack Miller who got off to a flying start managed to destroy his teammate's chances of a podium at his home grand prix. All this action and a lot more from the front to the rear of the field and not a single person comments here!
Rossi winning and nobody commenting is probably a first here

Re: MotoGP 2015 Season - Updates
yep came here to say the same thing...surprising how there are no comments on the thread after the race despite rossi saved by the rain and winning with as much as 12 points over lorenzo and again turning the championship around by a good points difference...might be the only place in the internet where rossi fans arent saying anything :P

Re: MotoGP 2015 Season - Updates
good..finally rossi fans coming out and doing what they usually like to do best..:-)
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
really though -
lorenzo has never been much good in wet (except le mans 2012) and he was somewhat lucky some riders crashed out or else he might have easily been 2 positions lower...even if the visor fogging thing was real and not an excuse, he'd have at best got 3rd position which is what he said in his interview.
likewise, rossi in the past has been mediocre at dry silverstone and even he has said or implied this numerous times over the years...however a dry silverstone has been one of lorenzo's best tracks in the past, and in this weekend too MM and JL had much higher race pace than rossi and, while it's just a coulda shoulda banter, it was very likely one of those two would have won this weekend if it had been dry and rossi would have been at best or most probably a distant 3rd...so yes, rossi was saved by the rain because he almost always rides great in rain no matter what track and lorenzo almost always never does...in dry the situation would have very likely been opposite as it has been in the past in this track...pretty much every rossi fan realizes this because before the race everywhere in the internet/world most of them were hoping for rain after the forecast indicated its high probability, but now most of them aren't willing to simply admit it honestly that rain saved him over his main rival because somehow they think admitting it would be downplaying their idol's great ride :-)Last edited by aditya_YZF-R15; 08-31-2015, 09:26 PM.

Re: MotoGP 2015 Season - Updates
.
i found myself cheering for petrucci throughout the second part of the race. his ride was the highlight of the day.
sure, there were a whole bunch of riders who crashed... but the way he fended off dovi was superb.
a well deserved second place.
the exact moment MM93 crashed... did anyone notice how Lin Jarvis threw his hands up in the air...
and said "TWELVE POINTS" "the difference is 12 points." to the guy standing right next to him.
marc marquez needs to swap leathers with jack miller. MM93 is truly deserving of having a giant "jackass" painted on his backside.
he threw away 20 valuable points! his excuse... "we needed to risk it"
no. jackass.
the only reason i was away from this thread was because of that god-awful xBHP upgrade that they've done away with now. good riddance.Originally posted by aditya_YZF-R15 View Postmight be the only place in the internet where rossi fans arent saying anything :P
i wonder what every rossi fan will need to say when it doesn't rain at each of the next 6 races left in the season...Originally posted by aditya_YZF-R15 View Postbut now most of them aren't willing to simply admit it honestly that rain saved him over his main rival because somehow they think admitting it would be downplaying their idol's great ride :-)
and he wins the championship.

Track Marshals all wearing #46 cap carrying crashed Marquez's bike & he following, sums up the race.
In Moto2 I was fascinated by Tito's run especially with worn out tires. What a control!

Re: MotoGP 2015 Season - Updates
Rossi rode better at wet Silverstone not because he was lucky in rain, because he's more skilled in these conditions. He was better prepared for changing conditions and rest (Lorenzo in particular) were not. At this level fighting for the championship, he should be prepared.
Conditions were dreadful and dangerous for all riders, all of them. Did anyone notice how Rossi's motorcycle consistently fish tailed while coming out of the long corner(s)? He wasn't lucky. He was better prepared. Part of skill I guess! The Chronicles of Motorcycling - The Man, The Machine and The Road

Re: MotoGP 2015 Season - Updates
After reading the last few posts, the world feels normal again
I liked Crutchlow's reaction to the way his race ended -
Very different from Lorenzo's reaction to Pol's move which almost knocked him off.
Not just fellow Italians Rossi and Dovi were happy to see Petrucci on the podium, but his ex-team, IODA guys also congratulated him for his podium. It was nice to see. For him it looked like he had won the race itself
Hopefully the championship battle will go on till the last corner of Valencia.
In other news, Scott Redding will be moving to Pramac Ducati next season. He will ride alongside Petrucci, with Hernandez getting dropped from the team. Redding has been promised factory support, somewhat similar to what Iannone enjoyed till last season.Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Yes he is. When he joined MotoGP initially, he was still serving in the police and was on sports leave or suchlike. Imagine our cops riding a bullet at 40kmph in contrast with their potbellies resting on the tankOriginally posted by Satellite.kid View PostReally sad for Cal, Jack is really... what can I say. I was surprised when Nick Harris said couple of times during the race that Danilo Petrucci is an ex-policeman. Interesting!

Re: MotoGP 2015 Season - Updates
BTW, Lorenzo never had a "wet" bike ready and had it not been red flagged before the start, it 'd have been an absolute white wash. What was the team thinking!Originally posted by nirvaana View PostNext he would say "If not for the helmet issue, Lor would have destroyed the absolute lap record even in wet"!

I liked Vale's interview by Colin. Don't think that it was aired in India.
Well, Rossi saw the big screen and knew that MM was on the gravel. I wonder how many racers can do that while racing in such treacherous conditions. I'm sure that he caught that by 93's helmet design. This isn't the first time he has done that.
Year of the GOAT!
Great ride by Petrux!
