I was happy that Jorge to the lead in the first few laps or it would have being boring from the 1st lap. Dani rode very well, as Rossi said he had something in his pocket which he pulled in the last few laps to gain time on Rossi near the end. This is Dani's 1st podium this year I guess.
And what a run by Maverick, he beat Aliex to the line.
Alas my man in moto2 came 2nd from pole. Was expecting another backflip. What a blow to Tito, being taken out by a rider at the last corner when you're in podium contention.
This is Dani's first 2nd place finish and 2nd podium finish

Initially, I thought the race will be interesting. All 4 heavyweights fighting it out for the win. But, MM93 just ruined the show by running away with the victory. Bad day for Yamaha. But, good for Rossi. VR46 was phenomenal during the second half of the season last year. & should do good this year as well. & he is quite confident about it..
Btw below is my fav pic from Sachsenring. It sums up the weekend for me.[emoji14]

The last picture in this link is so poignant. Rider suffering this season. Finally practice sessions this weekend looked good. Qualifying was a bit of a disappointment but not quite. Hopes were high for the race and then that. Captured at the perfect moment, human reactions so varied, but the expression is the same.

EDIT: Okay realized this was not from the race but from the practice sessions

Another correction here, who I thought had beating the other was actually the other way around. Aliex was again in front of Maverick by just 0.021sec.

I noticed that yesterday, but didn't want to point it out. Else i would be blamed for catching you off guard again

But then your distraction was understandable considering Rossi couldn't make a last lap charge at Pedrosa

                Nice, thanks for that
But now you know I have my reasons for missing out in my posts. I was expecting Dani to pass and rush off into the distance earlier than he did, it was actually a surprise that he did it in the last few laps. :P

It was very unfortunate for Tito Rabat to crash out. He was all set to take 3rd but Franco Morbidelli's aggressive move crashed him out. Seems he was hurt real bad. I saw the crash just before the end & thought to be unfortunate & real bad.
Tried to capture the sequence, highlights are available here.

Morbidelli's looking at Tito at the end as if he's wandering - "why the hell did you want to overtake me in the last corner of the last lap. This is all on you."

I don't blame Morbidelli. It was the last lap, Rabat had just overtaken him, he was fighting for his first podium. Got over enthusiastic on the brakes and handed the podium to Rins.

One mustn't forget that Morbidelli is Italian and trains with the legendary Rossi If you can't take out Marquez in MotoGP, get his friend in Moto2

Fortunately Tito's recently operated collarbone was intact, unfortunately he cracked a rib in the crash. Fortunately he has a month to recover to full fitness. Unfortunately, the title hunt is all but over for him!

If it was this way, it was Marquez who tried to take out Rossi in Assen... but naturally failed :P
