AFAIK Jorge was approached by Ducati with a paycheck which was double of what Casey was getting in 2009,

second, Honda has/had this reputation of changing riders as they change bulbs, no emotion/strings attached, Ducati is/was a passionate brand which treated its riders like heros, but it seems the mojo is wearing out,

Yamaha is managing to keep its riders happy despite much bitterness involved,(ever seen friends of Vale and Jorge cheering them on telly during live race) it is sure apparent they HATE each other

and also says Championship is over.....

"I know I have a bike for next year and I don't need to rush my return to demonstrate anything. I could miss just four races but I still wouldn't come back to win the championship.".......

I assume he's confirmed with Yamaha, he's never given a hint about looking for options.. but this could be his smartness not to give out hints.

^^Rossi going elsewhere is a distant possibility......Yamaha has been good to him....

I hope Stoner/Pedrosa step up to the challenge and give us a good championship fight....otherwise it is going to be a boring season with Lorenzo running away in front.....

If there is someone who can give Jorge tit for tat, it has to be both the Marcos(Melandri/Simoncelli)

Lorenzo is a darn good rider and it shall take super-human effort* from some one to stop him winning the title or rotten bad luck bestowed to him

*the kind of effort a certain lad from Texas put in for winning his rookie/maiden 2009 World Super Bike Championship

the way Lorenzo-Yamaha combination is working right now...only pedrosa and stoner seem capable of challenging him.......rest of them are on somewhat inferior machinery to be able to consistently win and challenge for championship (both the marcos included) .......

Hayden and Dovi are other 2 possibilities....m surprised nobody took Dovi's name till now.....

P.S. It might be interesting to put Spies on Rossi's Bike

(it might also work as a test for yamaha-whom to replace lorenzo with next year...assuming lorenzo leaves next year)

I read somewhere on the common websites about Lorenzo's situation now that Rossi's out. I'll try to put it in my words:
Before the accident The doctor was The Man to beat. But now it is none other than Lorenzo himself which changes the perception of Lorenzo's riding. We very well saw in Mugello, Lorenzo was more happy to pick up the points than to prove a point. This changes a lot and gives a whole new dimension to the championship
Also as somebody said "The aliens" are no more aliens

It would be interesting to see how it shapes up.
