                  1. No hydraulic clutch
                  2. Throttle control seems to be standard.
                  3. Twin headlamp appears to be inspired by Triumph.

However, considering no 250-300cc line up available with triumph and Kinetic's relations with Hyosung, it might be hyosung. And hyosung is having line up of 250cc bikes.

Finaly, i came to conclusion that this bike might be hyosung comet GT250, fine tuned on performance and looks by triumph for Mahindra.

Or keep triumph part aside. This may be hyosung tuned by mahindra, considering triumph as role model.

Yes, I understood your point Satyen. Remember sometimes back we'd a thread running on Kwacker 650 or Hyosung 650 on a speculated news & people started telling the pros & cons. Now this is turning to a similar one.

if this is really the hyosung comet gt250 than the GT650R is also not far away... the bike mag speculated the 650R @ 4-4.5l so if this is a 300c.c. it should priced somewhere around 2-2.25l...

                      • i think a realistic price of this bike will be above 2 lakhs . Liquid Cooled - twin cylinders , usd forks , dont come cheap . even the air cooled carb comet
costed quite some money way back and now this bike being more tech packed than comet i feel price will be above 2 lakhs for sure .

the hyosung 250 is air cooled and this bike has a radiator .

                          • Looks much more promising than all other hyosung, TVS, bajaj 250, etc...blah..blah.. If a single pot 150cc R15 can be priced as high as 1 lakh, we can definitely spend 1.8-2.0 lakhs on this two pot. .. Regarding the technology stuff, i am sure the italians will be far ahead and will make a mark on Indian biking scene for sure. Hope it comes at the right time when i can aford one ..
PS: I think mahindra is following xbhp coz no other manufacture will venture for such risks while every others are going on behind so called bike for the masses and i heard in an interview with rajiv bajaj that Bajaj is planing for the launch of 'Boxer 150' too. Considering all these, mahindra has definitely taken a step too forward and hope it will be a huge success story(in which we are part of it )..

Engine is only one part of the bike. So, it would not be double. Remember that R15 is equally packed with technology. The main factor which would decide is whether it is local/imported. I am not an expert on this, but I think it is something like 110% tax for imports...

IMHO, if it is made in India, it should be between 1.3-1.4L.

then clutch lever, brake lever looks like mass production type. no alloys etc..just plain and simple.
definately not a race bike, like the R15, think the track is for promotion only. simple handle bar, no clip ons...
obviously riding posture is more naked bike type..again not much race.
then we all know, LC etc etc..

                                more observations please

                                anyways the Hyosung 650..
not fair to say, as all these nakeds almost look the same..
Nice to see such bike. I'll be more happy if its indigenous like RTR, coz any profit minded Ramu / Somu with money can buy foreign design / manufacturing firm(who really worked) & put their emblem simply for raising stock values. personal opinion, no offense

                                My observation are

                                1. The front fender design looks irrelevant, for an inverted fork. seems designed only for looks. neither aerodynamic nor covers the fork tube for clarity jus look to attached pics.
                                2. The clutch lever got rubber cover, as found in low capacity mass market bikes
                                3. The front mask seems worked out mix of Apache & triumph
