I can already see MLA, MP, CM, PM, President reference nessecary to purchase this bike if it is priced like that and black marketing too.Originally posted by Obsessed View Post1.25 L to 1.3L for a 300cc Twin imported as CBU? That's shock pricing! Will make some of it's lower segment bikes look super expensive!
If it's true then my RX135 is up for sale in October

I hope they consider MAhindra group employees first

i can agree to the fact that mahindra will be bearing the cost of imports.... but the price of 1.3l is too low too be true for an italian bike an italian bike is usually priced twice the normal bikes.... if launched @1.3l say goodbye to p220, karizma and r15..... wake up japs....Timon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009
Optimus: Red Mahindra XUV500 W8 FWD 2013

No 300cc.....
only 110cc, 125cc & 150cc.....!
I think Mahindra 4 sure is hooked on to xbhp posts.....! So lets stop scaring them with our un-realistic expectations especially w.r.t. pricing.....!

Read the Disclaimer I have put before making comments. I do not make comments before confirming.Originally posted by pulsater View PostI have seen silly posts in xbhp before but this one should go in hall of fame.
if I have to believe your Honda story (which is hard to believe), then its the price Honda should pay for failing to gauge the market for hybrids in India and their thin research before launch.
But still, all of that give away was AFTER they had fail. The news you just told us reflects that Mahindra is already assuming it's "would be launch" as a fail product, which is nonsense just like your source.
Sitting in UK how can you form notions about people who are sitting very close to Mahindra Kinetic Plant?
Btw I believe you know how to use Google. Search on Honda Civic Hybrid 13 Lakhs India. You will get information on same. I am not building stories.
And after that episode.. Honda did not bring in more hybrids.
I think you need to refine your Business Acumen. Have a resolution for that next year.
All the best. I know you can do it.
No company looks for profit from day 1. Logically speaking.. the pilot launch will be to judge the market response.. and say for 100 odd bikes they will spend 1 Crore to 1.25 crore for duties. 1-1.25 crore.. is that a BIG amount for Mahindra? Instead of investing on building up whole infrastructure for manufacturing a bike.. (which will require Hundreds of crores of Investments in infra and building manpower) which they dont even know that will be a success or failure.. considering Mahindra has not a presence in biking segment at all.
Selling a bike is not the only thing.. You have do hell lot to make a product successful. If possible search thru my posts. I have posted somewhere on what it takes to launch a bike.
When P220 DTS-FI was launched.. Only 47 bikes were sold in FIRST lot.. back in 2007 Jan. Then 2nd Lot had 45 bikes. 3rd Lot had another 50 odd bikes. In six months they sold only 125-130 bikes.. when there was a demand for more than 500 bikes in Pune itself. Was Bajaj an Idiot in not to go ahead.. and launch it full flegedly.. NO. They were preparing themselves. And made consideable invesntments before bringing the product to market. Btw data from bajaj shows.. they sold only 15000 P220-DTS-FI in 2 years. And that was just 90K INR. And it was Well established PULSAR BRAND.
How much do you think that Mahindra will sell.. where the BRAND of the BIKE is not even known.. and Mahindra has no expereince of 2 wheelers? No proper showrooms.. service stations.. At 1.25 Lakhs. And just think.. if they price the same UNKNOWN bike at 2.5 lakhs.. will that sell?
Improve your business acumen.
Btw R15's engine was imported. NOT PARTS. And Engine attracts huge import duty too. go back in history and see.. Why was Bajaj Eliminator priced at 88k.. and they could not bring down the cost? Reason - Engine was attracting 100% duty. So the Engine whcih was around 22-23K was costing them 45 K.Last edited by inflammable; 09-14-2010, 09:27 PM.Why Road Safety campaigns are not impacting people?

xBHP posted this earlier but removed it later (possibly due to request from M&M), when the image stayed here it was in the url http://www.xbhp.com/autopictorials/d...m/mahindra.jpg (not available now). But many people (like me) took a backup copy of the picture and now it looks like most blogs and website post the picture without crediting either xBhp or the photographer.Originally posted by fusioncoastguys chkout the piks from vicky blog

Well the official confirmation will come only when it has to come and the company knows that best. So for now, lets have good hope of seeing a 250cc(or 300) twin as mentioned and hopefully a sub 2 lakh price since there is a good possibility they might manufacture it here after buying kinetic. But I'm thinking its a 150cc bike for now and not a 300 as its only recently caught up with good market sales in the 2 wheeler segment. They might want to test the market response and then eye the market for a slightly higher capacity bike.
A 300 straight out of the Ex-Kinetic factory will be a nuclear entry for Mahindra though!Last edited by ironman; 09-18-2010, 01:35 PM.Riding is a way of life. Sometimes, it might also be a way of giving life. So Ride safe. In both contexts.
