    True..

It would be best if a 250/300 cc, Liquid Cooled engine and not the air cooled CB 300R is specifically developed for India.
I like the styling of the CBR 150R. A 250/300 cc, liquid cooled would be just perfect.

But even a CBR 150R with the new styling and at the Yamaha R15's price tag would certainly quite a lot of takers.

Yes, Bahut Saal pehle main(I was) Josh mein tha, Phir main Madhosh hua, ab main Hosh mein aaya hoon. That is why I am pessimistic.

See, it is not whether Honda graces us with a 250 or 300 or so, but what we are trying to do is to corelate (or at least the possibility) products launched elsewhere in the world to a possible product in India in the near future.

Otherwise, as we all know, Honda boffins always have shown their middle fingers to bikers not only in India but also all over the world for their wishlists.

I have retaliated by not buying any of their product launched in the last ten years or so.

And if the model is not a volume generating one.. then it doesn't make sense either.
A totally new LC modern engine totally made in India (that too for a niche product - and that is why it is self-contradictory) is almost impossible unless they decide to make India a hub for its world consumption. In which case, I would offer a 1 kg. Ladoo to Lord Ganesha.

          +1 TO THAT..
on a serious note, the 250 has a high chance of makingit to india considering that honda is splitting with hero. and also considering the fact that it is theonly manufacturer whose product have not yet breached the 120 kmph mark. if they have to survive in the lower cc market, they have to earn the reps here so as to make them as premium bke makers..

i am waiting for a good 250 cc , 150 kmph bike from honda.. hope this time they put up the pointing finger instead of the usual middle finger to us bikers

          • Thanks a ton technician... you gave a brilliant analogy about this!

BTW doesnt the CRF230 engine already has a cousin sitting on a down tube in India.. the HH rumours also fall into place now... Honda gives some, takes some from Hero.. or its thai brothers... (take some from Hero, helps costs a big deal! and Thai incidentally has a FTR agreement with us!)

              • Fantastique....atleast I will not give R15 a second look if this comes here exactly like this! Performance is atleast expected to be as good as R15. Infact, I have read that CBR 150 doesn't suffer from lack of low end torque. So this is going to be good for me

                • Yeah, this mixing up of various components between their different models is not too difficult for manufacturers especially when the product is going to give benefits for the next 7-8 years to a company like Honda. The photos have also started coming in.

Also, forums around asean countries are abuzz with rumours about the new launches.

                  CBR 250

Was talking to the owner of the Honda dealership in Saphan Kwai today. A very genuine straight talker, fluent in English, Chinese I think.

Anyway, says the new 150i will be in the shops in Nov, and when asked about the 250 he said that it should be in production next year... for the EXPORT market. And while they haven't been told, everyone (Honda dealers) feels that it won't be released in Thailand for the following reasons:

The market is such a niche, and the introduction would require all the mechanics in the Honda dealerships to be trained to be able to work on them, the cost of introduction for such a small market wouldn't be worth it. And that with the ninja, there just wouldn't be enough demand to make it worthwhile.

He said that they feel it's coming soon, but not for Thailand.

If this is Honda's answer to R15, then what would be its cost?? I'm pretty much sure that this will be priced more than R15.
And in that case, if 250 also is coming, It'll surely be around the Ninja 250R price...

From the news article mentioned I am guessing it should be similar to the price in Thailand i.e. 75,900 baht or 112,713.55 INR for this 150R

                    Ref

This makes it priced similarly as the other fully faired performance Indian bikes R15 & ZMR

And this one will be the best looker of the lot. The Thai price is in the R15 league.

The killer combo would be a CBR 150R and a CBR 250, it's Twin brother (like the Classic Pulsar 150/180 duo).

                        • the bike looks good in bits...

still need to wait to see proper pics to tell if this doesn't look un-proportionate.

                            Without any doubt.

And also it seems there has been no compromise to get better performance(the tyres, i mean). Got to have a look at that brilliant 160km/hr video of the old CB150R, again. Now i am hooked on to this!!

Hopefully the bike is a stonker for its price.

Yes, indeed. Honda's styling/design is spot on. This bike looks awesome.. I just want to see it in person as some members say it can be a bit small in size, like the R15.

Being small is not the real issue.. but being proportionate is more important to me actually.

The proportions of the R15 at the rear and the ZMR with its fairing doesn't gel with the rest of the bikes. But the new CBR 150R here seems like to have been designed on a clean sheet of paper (or on a blank computer screen ).
