I can sense another Mojo thread in making.
Mojo atleast had a teaser advertisement, but for this Honda thing...we have just a speculations.
But at end..Be it 150cc or 250cc...Honda will sell it well for sure. I would be more intersted in 250cc (just to have a test ride).2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme
2008 - Yamaha YZF R15
2009 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme
2013 - KTM 390 Duke
2017 - Yamaha FZ25

Were you missing me?Originally posted by Technician View PostAnd btw, where are the original really bad characters. Where are you Mr. Sheelpriye ?
.
I was just looking up this thread and wasn't very enthusiastic in posting post discovering that it might be a single again.
I have had my share of single/s and if this isn't a double or best a small I-4, I would never forgive Honda. (not that they care)
250R is elusive and it will have my money (as of now) if nothing else comes up.
A better R15, I don't think most of us even care about it. Performance wise it will have an edge and handling is more sublime on the R15 (as per various media reports who rode this(150R) in Thailand and on track at MMST)

Wish the Motorcycle Manf. were clear as the Car Manf. who clearly display the models which are going to be launched in advance and time expected to hit showrooms rather than this cloak and dagger approach leading to wild speculations and uncertainty for people who are going to make purchases

Mr. Banga & Mr. TV Singh has to decide one simple thing?Originally posted by Technician View PostThis is what we all are urging these gentlemen to do, but in vain except with bright colours and small incremental cc upgrades. Tell me, when a modern 150 with an ability to outpeform all other bikes sold in India by these gentlemen becomes available who will buy different models of these makers. I have not talked about 250 yet though I am only concerned with 250 only, and not 150 at all. This is the difference between leading and following.
Also, I would really feel bad if an extensive efforts by indigenous Indian maker for developing a bike, say, a 180, goes down the drain within two years just because there are no or very less number of buyers interested in that particular segment of bikes because two segments, 150 and 250 can cover everything and in between. Wasted efforts and energies, isn't it.
Can they ONLY play cost trump card against Mr. Handa for his dope!
Would people be willing to experiment with a lethal 250mg dose of a 'pilot' dope? or would people like to see thier current dope getting refined even if it were in smaller dose!
I for one would rather go for Mr. handa's supeer hallucinating dope with a 250mg dose, rather than venture with a experimental product from Mr. Banga, and Mr. Singh who have had limited (as compared) experience in cooking such dope!
Exactly, a lil something which is called as a masstige... and hello! remember the stunner is still sold in europe as an learners bike, so this is a better alternative than at least that 'world wide' ... In India\Thailand, its a no brainer!Originally posted by payeng View PostSimple Ans:
Like Yamaha sells the 150 cc R15, with Full Fairing, Liquid Cooled Engine, 6 Speed Gearbox, with a Perimeter frame at 1.10-1.15 lakhs..
...and also sells 5 variants of the air cooled, carbureted, 153 cc engine (FZ16, FZ-S, Fazer, SZ and SZ-X) at price points ranging from 60K to 80K.
I find this coming from an ID "STIG" amusing... Jokes apart, like us, there are manufacturers who would want to pry around trying to gather what the other one is upto... If I tell you a lil story about the CB Twister and how it shocked HH, you will die laughing!Originally posted by The Stig View PostThis is what really irritates me why dont manufacturers be more clear abt their upcoming bike...i waited for such a long time expecting something good from mahindra but mojo failed to win my heart so after giving up hope of anything new coming i bravely booked R15 and now i get this news....
Gadgetry?Originally posted by vas View Post@Stig: If you think in this way, there will be many many better bikes coming your way in the future.
I got hands on my friends 15. clocked > 150kms during one night and a day. It gave me such a kick-ass feeling that even my Honda City failed to
Not that I had not ridden the 15 till now, but did not want to ride it for long cause I know this addiction is very bad for h(w)ealth.
I expect the Honda to be a notch above in refinement. But the only negative point is with the lack of latest gadgetry. They take ages to add them!
Right now, glued to this thread. By far this has been a educative speculation in recent times

Indian journos are invited by Honda for the 27th-28th launch in Thailand.Originally posted by Technician View PostI am only concerned with 250-300 cc. That is it. But I can't analyze MG's contension. He is a moderator. How can we ignore him?
Now we all know that its the CBR150R which will be launched. Till now I was of the opinion that CBR250 or VFR250 will be unveiled. But now with the CBR150R I'm confused because if its not coming to India then why are Indian journos invited? Or there is a parallel launch of 250cc also?
For now its wait and watch

My humble suggestions, can the which bike portion of this thread (R15 to order or not) be moved into another thread... its spoiling the fun from this thread..
Is it just me or the older image has a different disc setup that this one... Technician, you might be just right! (PS: lost your email ID again! ping me!)

If by older you mean the pics taken when the TVC was being conducted then Yes I think alike, the disc plate/setup does look different, have a look at these cropped images, I am also awaiting Technician's response on this one..Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostMy humble suggestions, can the which bike portion of this thread (R15 to order or not) be moved into another thread... its spoiling the fun from this thread..

by looking at this bike front shocks and tyre size and overall dimensions .. i really doubt it is a 250CC ... it is 150CC and Honda surely won;t bring full faired sports bike with 250CC+ in india .. it will bring another mojo jojo style bike [naked]

@harryhunt7 : Well it might be different from the one used in testing phase. Besides its only a wheel hub. This one looks ore like the zma's hub. Hope it's not as bad as zma's though.Last edited by ironman; 10-19-2010, 09:05 PM.Riding is a way of life. Sometimes, it might also be a way of giving life. So Ride safe. In both contexts.
