@ Sambit: I think the potential buyer or a performace enthusiast would easily diffrentiate the two. A difference of 100CC LOL.

But wont the CBR250R owners feel the heat here?A cheaper bike looking better than the 1.6 lac bike ??... For a lay man,it would be real hard in finding the difference between the two.
I dont expect much weight difference too.
      CBR20R dry weight is 142 kilos (161wet i guess)
CBR150R wet weight 138 kilos(wet must be 157 or lesser...)

      Motoroids claims CBR150R gives 35+ @ seepds of 90kmph+

I hate it when manufacturers launch almost identical looking bikes with different CC. Pulsar is one good example. I find it difficult to distinguish between 150, 180, 200, 220. But I guess its good from manufacturing point. Sharing most parts.

Someone on this thread claimed 56 KMPL. Even if that is ARAI claimed, people can still get around 50 with sane riding. Looks better than R15.

Lol.. R15 is now surrounded from all sides. It sure gonna take a big hit on its sales. Already saw few people cancelling their bookings. Looks like with the launch of new pulsars with KTM influenced engines, 2012 is gonna be a rocking year for bikers.

The future of Indian performance biking sugment is looking bright guys...

ARAI FE for Pulsar 220 is 57kmpl. Tell me one person who gets 50 regularly. ARAI FE is the biggest scam in India. If you want a realistic figure, straight away reduce 20% from ARAI FE. Thats what everyone gets.

So, for 56kmpl ARAI on the CBR150R, you will be lucky if you get 44.8kmpl in the real world. Nobody buys performance bikes to ride them 'sanely'.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

For some reason, I am loving CBR150R more than 250R. I find 130 section rear tyre more apt than 140 section (broader) tyre of CB250R. I think extra broadness is un-necessary and spoiling handling of a bike bit. 130 section tyre looks perfect!

It often takes a humiliating overtake to understand that an early jump off the red light won't help them lead the pact. All I want to say is - Go after green.

There is a mistake in your sentence I think. You already gave 138 kgs as wet weight, so why give the 157 kgs figure as wet again?
And who says there's going to be less difference in wet weight? 250R's bore is 76mm and 150R's bore is around 63.5mm. Plus the other differences...

CBR 150R is in R15's league, guys. not in 250R's league.

Well, not sure if its ARAI certifide or company claimed FE. Just heard someone saying that. Anyways R15's FE is 48 (claimed) and it gives 40-45. Many people have acheived this.

Again.. I dont care about 44.8 or 50. Anything above 35 in ripping condition and above 40 in sane, is quite acceptable. Anything above that is a big plus.. We as an Indians will always have that mentality of "Kitna deti hai". Who doesn't want good power with equally impressing FE.

According to Siddharth Patankar, it wasnt ARAI claimed it was HMSI claimed.
Last time they claimed 32 for 250R people are averaging at 32 aswell.
So if he is right, then i dont think there is much deviation from that figure

How is it different from international model which weighs in at 134kg?

                        • @samrath: sorry for the mistake, you are right.

@antz.bin: +100 no point in riding a 'sporty' bike sanely...

TVS claims a mileage of 58.x for my A180 and i get 38-39 on ripping real hard highway...

I would have bought the R15 but i'm waiting for the CBR150 to be launched...
Basically looking for a bike which gives 30kmpl+ on ripping...

I'm considering the CBR150R because it some good reviews about its specs...

But i'm skeptical about it( CBR 150R ) because of the bad reviews Honda 250R got in india and the excellent reviews about the quality and performance R15...

April 2012. And before this launches the HRC 250R will be out.

Or maybe it is the other way around

                              • OTR price
                                R15 - 1.28
                                250R - 1.70

I clearly dont see how 40k difference for 100cc and 8 bhp is "overpriced"[/QUOTE]
                                Think like this.
YAMAHA comes with R25 and all they do is bore out the engine and slightly rigid the components to take care of extra power.Do you think it really costs 40k extra.I also mentioned that r15 is overpriced(around 10k-15k in my opinon)
Also as KTM are charging 1.35 otr adding a fairing may cost at max 10k.Even if you think of adding more quality parts it may cost 10k extra or other extra costs it is justifiable to charge 1.5to1.6.
ps:i dont know about the localisation at honda or yamaha and these are just my ideas no offence meant to anbody.
Whenever i see bikes or cars i see adrenalin pumps instead of people carriers.Thats the way to define an automobile.
