You should definitely stop dreaming
The R15 v2.0 costs about 1.28 in my city OTR.
The 150R is less than 1.2 ex showroom and that will take the OTR to about 1:35ish
About 7-8 grand difference isnt a problem.
There are people who want a sporty 150cc bike that would cater to a pillion aswell
i believe the CBR is taller than the R15. Correct me if im wrong
Honda charge premium for their motorcycles and I expect the same for CBR150R.
I read somewhere that the saddle height is lower than that of R15. But I find(saw) the seat-foot peg-handle position to be comfortable for taller drivers as well. The tank scoops are also not very intruding in CBR150R.
However, we should look for a short test drive before coming to conclusions
^^^ For once, I do think Honda will undercut R15, reason being if they try to charge a premium over R15, it may look close enough to CBR250 and in all probability they might lose the customer to Duke 200, which is expected to be priced between R15 & CBR250.
But, what amazes me is that they will incur almost the same cost to produce CBR150 as that of CBR250, so how are they going to protect their margins or is it that they are earning huge premium on CBR250?

If CBR150R is priced similar to R15, then I think following are the people who will prefer CBR over R15:
1 - who want a comfortable, user-friendly pillion seat
2 - who want a comfortable seating position as opposed to sporty seating position of R15
3 - who are such skilled riders that they will be able to utilize that 1 extra bhp that CBR offers over R15
4 - who think CBR looks better than R15
I think not many people fall into the 3rd and 4th category above. And do we really have a lot of people in 1st and 2nd category? I think vrugonnab is correct. Honda should price CBR150R below R15 to sell it well over R15.

well, there are category 1& 2 people also and in significant numbers, but they also want it to be more powerful, so they want a CBR250 and not CBR150, so if cbr150 wanna compete with r15, it must be priced lower.

Lower than R15? Why?
It does not have to be lower than R15. It can be on par or within a couple of thousands + and will still be competitive.
Does anybody know the torque figure of CBR150R? I remember one of the sites comparing it with Yamaha R15V2. R15V2 has 15 NM of max torque and CBR150R has max torque around 12NM (?)
If so, will 3NM less torque of CBR150R compared to Yamaha R15V2 steal the deal away from baby CBR?
It often takes a humiliating overtake to understand that an early jump off the red light won't help them lead the pact. All I want to say is - Go after green.

Image of CBR150 Specification as shown in AutoExpo...
It will be CBR 150R's 17.5PS @ 10500rpm and 12.6NM @ 8500rpm (DOHC)
against R15v2's 17PS @ 8500rpm and 15NM @ 7500rpm (SOHC).
We will wait and watch :-)...
Suzuki GS150R(Balck) 2009- 2012
Yamaha R15 V2(LE white) 2012 and Honda Dio V2 Matte
Max Power and Max Torque can only be achieved at higher rpm like 13.1KW/17.6HP@10500rpm and 12.6Nm@8500rpm. But if good power and torque is also available at lower rpm's like CBR250R then CBR150R should do good job. Waiting to see the power-rpm and torque-rpm graph curves.
Attaching USA Honda CBR250R comparo curves
Now we require some thing like this to compare CBR150R vs R15 in terms of power and torque.
^^^ So sushanth, what is 250cc dyno graphs doing on a 150 thread
