actually honda has bad habit of making fuel-efficient engine.last time in case of 250 r they were able to return the efficiency they claimed, contrary to yamaha, which don't believe in making fuel-efficient machine.so we can keep our hopes high.
and the question remains why do i race?

Honda claimed 50 kmpl for the CBR 250 I remember it very well but its next to impossible to reach that figure. Honda might be slightly more FE than Yamaha but for 150s they have better power too. R15 gives around 35kmpl in the city so u cant expect 40kmpl for CBR150. Even Unicorn gives 40kmpl. It would be in the same range max 1kmpl more if you are very lucky. 5 kmpl is a big difference. U cant ignore it.

1,17,000 is exactly 10,000 more than R15 (1,07,000). With Duke currently at 1,17,500 I dont think it stands any chance. Provided that Bajaj and KTM dont hike the prices of Duke.

On the other hand it will face stiff competion from R15 and P200NS. In my opinion P200NS will eat both R15 and CBR150's sales, as its supposed to be priced under 1Lac.

I dont understand Honda's market strategy. Their products are always less in features and more on the price. They need to price it somewhere around 1.10L on road, that is between P200 and R15 in order to survive.

I highly doubt it will sell much with that price tag.

          .
duke is being retailed at an introductory price,so price hike is inevitable.

Though sometimes u r right but many a times u tend to force "ur own" facts which is not a good habit (dont take it hard ).
Ask any auto-expert they will tell you what honda claimed when they launched CBR-250R. I am 100% sure about this. Check this link Honda CBR250R Video Review [Autocar India] + Official specs | Bike Chronicles of India

Also Unicorn gives 40-41 kmpl as far as I have known or read in this forum from the Unicorn owners. I am talking about strict city mileage. No highway. You can query Unicorn owners more on that. Some ppl can exhagerrate about the mileage but practically one gets 40-41 kmpl in the city on Unicorn.

              Well said

But even at a higher price point, which won't deviate much (not so much that buyers looking for a bike in that segment will discount it), it seems like a better deal
It all begins with a thumb-start -- Oh, wait, I forgot the kill-switch

i am not forcing any fact. honda showroom guy claimed 36-40 mileage figure.
p.s.=actually most of the time i find your post full of mis-info.but i don't tell you anything because we are all here to learn.

get your claim checked from ownership thread.unicorn probably has the most efficient 150 cc engine in india,if it gives 40-41,what will fz return.

OK ok my bad. Thats why I precisely wrote don't take it hard. U might point to it as u do. I will accept my mis-info comments. I remember I called drag-horse to Shine. Sry I ment work-horse.

And yes Honda showroom guys claim differnt. Its not what the showroom guy claims its about what Honda claims. Pls accept it.

one of my team mates got fz-s. hes kinda guy who doesnt exaggerate the figures. He gets 33 kmpl in city riding as what he told. And I would say that Unicorn is FE but the most FE 150cc bike has to be either Pulsar 150 or GS-150 R.

                  • had 3 unicorns here of the older generation -- one had 60+ average ---other had 85 & the third one had 29 {all these are real averages & all were/are owned by xbhpians}

so is it really required in a cbr thread -- i think not

i try not to think, but back of my mind i am still trying to get a moderate fe figure.blame the 'ktna deta hai' heritage of the land which i belong to.

I was comparing the on road price r15 v2.0(1.26L) vs Cbr150r(1.30L) ---> thts approx 4k to 7k since cbr150r price is not confirmed yet in chennai (may be around 1.33L)..

i think it will sell, if honda can pull it off with 40+ kmpl..mainly depends on pillion seat positioning and mileage .. lets wait
