Achin, its not that we are walking , its the thing people have booked it because of passion, not because of their daily needs. N when passion calls, time really feels like passing slow. Its moreover like getting earliest d hot chick u like (getting CBR) , than getting married (gettinmg any xyz indian moped)

What was the issue with the fuel gauge?
i bought it from pilot honda.
since the bike will have to be worked on in the workstation i did not accept the bike...
i told them dat i have paid the entire amount and i have the right to reject the vehicle since the quality issue is not my fault.....
the guys at pilot honda were helpful and they assured me that they will replace the bike and give me a new one....
and yeah i was lucky that the billing of the bike was not done on my name, cause if they would have done that i would have got stuck wid the vehicle and would have been forced to get it repaired and not replaced....

i will post the pics asap...
Mine has its handle clip-ons misaligned. Also a clip from the front fairing is missing. Does seem like CBR's may have some quality issues...They have bitten more than they can chew

the fuel guage is not working at all..
the fuel indicator in the console keeps on blinking and showed full tank even wen the tank was empty....

ADVICE:
tell ur dealer not to make the invoice untill u are completely satisfied with the bike...

• Since the deliveries have not even commenced, to day i went ahead and booked a ninja 250r aswell. So now i have 3 bookings
1 CBR in pondycherry
1 CBR in B'lore
1 Ninja in B'lore.

Whichever bike gets delivered first will cancel the others. Yes i do not have a vehicle in B'lore ( my bike is stuck in chennai ) to commute hence so many bookings.. :P

@The Stig- Can you post pictures of the missing clip ons or where they were missing exactly so that we can test the bike when we get it for those spots.

Thanks..I am not facing any such problem, though if we talk about gear shifting, it is pretty stiff, specially downshift. Anyone faced such issues?

I had booked with Pragnya Honda, booking number 1. They have only got the display bikes; manager was offering me one of the display/test ride bogie. I chose to wait for the delivery lot as current ones seem to be hurreidly put together. No timelines as yet. I am the biggest monkey on their back now.

Congratulations once again. And yes, what colour? I remember reading your posts about places up north; think you are at Parwanoo.

Thanks sid. They did not have a display bike. They received 4 bikes, 3 red and one black. And I took a delivery of the red one. I booked mine on the 6th Jan and perhaps this is one of the first few deliveries in delhi.

No test rides were available

• Another Disappointed Victim

I had booked my bike mid Feb from OM SAI HONDA, Mahim. Jus visited those guys today regarding the status of my delivery and to my shock they told me it will take 11 months for delivery. I was like WTF...
Om Sai Honda, Mahim was famous for their garbage after sales service, now they have also outdone themselves in sales dept.

Its really disappointing how these guys are taking loyal customers for a ride. The reason I am saying this is cause after visiting Om Sai Honda , I called up a local dealer and asked him for the delivery , he said he can get me the bike delivered in 24 hrs if I pay a premium of 30,000 bucks. Any colour, any version !!! Am sure this would not be possible without support from the dealers.

I have already written some heavy words about the matter to Honda Motorcycles India (which am sure is of no use) & Consumer Complaints Forum.

• People another quality issue with CBR. My bike's fairing paint has peeled of without me riding it apart from bringing it home from the dealers gowdown and the bike being parked in my compound with parking cover on it and lots of knocking there in low gears at low speeds.have informed the dealer about it and asked him to stop my registration. Feeling so irritated that have waited so impatiently for this bike for so long and such quality after paying 1.95lacs.

• @usman: Go hammer and tongs at them. Such poor quality is unacceptable. Write to each and every Honda ID you get.

@kurtrules: Congratulations. Now i know which CBR250R will rack up miles the quickest :-) . Regarding gear shifting, i have now tested on two different CBRs in different showrooms. The first bike had very accurate shifts and overall the bike felt good. The second one was bad. 1st to second and vice versa were really problematic.

Somehow, i believe that QC has not been upto the mark for the CBR250R. I was not expecting any superbike like ability neither was i looking to buy a Ninja beater. The first test ride convinced me that it was a good bike mechanically and a worthy upgrade for anyone with less than 200cc currently. The second test ride yesterday was a disappointment. Maybe the bike in this showroom has been abused a lot. Only the dodgy plastics, the flailing windscreen and the ill fitting tank lid were consistent. About the vibrations at higher revs - on both bikes, i would say that vibrations were nothing to note. I am comparing it with my 3.5 yr old 220 which has its share of vibrations.

A note for pillions: Wifey felt much more comfortable on the CBR250R as a pillion compared to the almost wooden bench of the 220.

• I believe the best decision for prospective buyers is to wait for a couple of months and let Honda resolve all the quality issues. I definitely expected better stuff from Honda, I wouldn't mind if they had charged another 20K more, but I wanted peace of mind, which I don't think the existing owners are getting.

• I am loving this waiting period now, previously i am very disappointed and now after seeing many quality issues from the bike owners i even think do i need this bike?
The so called R20 or R25 from Yamaha is on the pipe line. fingers crossed, hope they will bring it before July. Then i have another choice to select from. Yamaha didn't disappointed me with these type of f***ing paint issues which when we spend a fortune for the bike.
Please Honda make this waiting period at least to 2012 where our planet is said to be non-existent

Its seems that HONDA has not at all done QC on the vehicles as far the finishing is concerned.
As for the engine, such issues cannot be tolerated. I read in another post earlier regarding KNOCKING thats too bad after paying nearly 2L we get this quality.
