the government is just fooling ppl, crude oil prices have fallen from approx. 100$ per barrel to approx. 50$ i.e. crude oil prices have become half in last one year, so accordingly we should also get petrol at approx. half the price as compared to that of last year.

this government is looting public in broad daylight and nobody says anything.

what is/was the subsidy on petrol/diesel ..??

how much were the losses?, and due to what? are the losses completely erased now?

That Excise Duty could now be reduced by Atleast 2 Rupees.

Just two days ago I completed a 2400km ride from Hyd > B'lore > Ooty > Valparai > Munnar > B'lore > Hyd in 7 days.
Entering Telangana had to refuel, and I went on seeing the price at 69.xx , having been used to sub 64 rs pricing the past 7 days on tour. No roll back of the recently increased VAT... easy way for the govt to make money.. felt insulting!

Worry no more ,with the implementation of GST, the price difference arising due to vat variation will vanish.

Govt didn't roll back on that massive excise hike they made when oil barrel fell to $45 from $110.. Excise Duty is now 17Rs/litre alone. There was a 3 stage hike in the last 8 months on that duty front in the name of "stabilizing GDP" and yet they don't want to roll back when the barrel prices are climbing.
