i dont beleive in this 24bhp r15s. a good tuner like joel has once mentioned that the 15s engine is already maxed out and there is no way they can tune it to give more than 20bhp. if i remember correctly some months back in one of his posts he even claimed that it is almost impossible to tune the r15 to give a dyno reading of 24 or so.the 15 is infact a tuned version of t135.
there is also no point in asking the dealers about the new model. they know nothing but crap.the company will be in no rush to inform the dealers about a new r15 if there are only cosmetic changes and no mechanical upgrades.so stop wasting time in visiting dealers. try netting some one within the company for some spicy news.

I never mentioned 24bhp, and you need to read this

Every tom, dick and harry knows about he Vixion and t135 linkage with the R15, and that has got little to do with what that engine can do.

i am not at all talking about big bore engine.if you bore the engine you ll definitely get better performance. proof-the t135 bored to give the r15.all i told was that it is not possible to get too much out of the present 150 cc engine even with the best tuners. if at all some one manages to acheive some wild figures by tuning the present engine its longevity will be considerably low. the reason why i mentioned the t135 was to reinstate the point that the present engine is already a beefed up version of a lower power bike and tuning it furthur is a big ask.
i dont want to start another debate here. just expressed my opinion that is all.

I cannot confirm if the T-135 cylinder kit can be bored out to 150cc or not. But the mill on the R15 cannot be rebored afaik. It's a use and throw setup. If yamaha indeed has a more powerful setup It would not have been built on their current offering. They would be running something similar to what Joel has on offer. A big bore or a completely radical 150cc setup. Getting 1HP out of the bike itself is a tough job. Their dagrex kit is proof that you cannot increase the power of the bike by merely claiming that a poorly designed kit will boost the power.

So if they indeed had something more powerful it would have a lot of radical changes incorporated into the bike. My thoughts on the fuel efficiency was confirmed by Satyen as one of the reasons for Yamaha not launching the higher powered R15 and his verdict for me is as credible as it can get.

That said can anyone confirm when and if this bike will launch and if it's possible to retrofit that tail section. For the first time ever I am actually interested in a cosmetic mod.

Engine is similar to that of r15. I wish it would be more than 150cc for better low-end. But is there room in r15's engine for higher displacement??.. I hav heard that r15 is akready a ported engine, is it true??

Refer to this thread here for all your R15 related performance needs.

You cannot increase the displacement of the engine on the stock cylinder configuration. The existing cylinder head can be modified to increase gains on the stock cylinder kit.

but not a 200cc 20bhp(smthing like zmr),...

200+cc,25bhp around atleast..
