Maybe Honda India boffins forgot to consider inflation

Good question. I still dont know why most people have the mindset that Honda engines (cars & bikes) are the most reliable in India.

Reliable compared to Indian ones, but not w.r.t German engineering.

People tend to say Honda bike engines are the best in India. True? I think not.

About cars people say you pay more for a Honda City / Civic because of the engines. No. You pay more for the premium Honda badge on the nose and tail.

yep!!some people have the mindset like that!! still honda's engines are good, no argument in it!! but also toyota comes into picture when reliablity is considered!! some poeple have the same mindset towards toyota also!!! still both these companies develop their products having the german machines as a benchmark!!
P.S.>this is just an opinion and not for starting a argument that either of the company is best!!

          • But going with a global big shot always has its advantages as they take responsibility for their errors. When Nokia's batteries were reported faulty and dangerous they called back that entire series and replaced each battery no questions asked and now Honda is doing the same.
You cant expect any corporate machinery to function without error as no one is perfect but whats important is that they acknowledge their errors and work to correct them.....

            • Honda Engines are Build to last. No doubt about that.
And why are we comparing the engines of Cars here?

Honda has been synonymous with quality and performance for a long time now. The active first gen may have had faults but it was launched a decade back and has come a long way. It always takes any institution to improve by it mistakes and they have.... Active since then has been selling like hot cheese cakes... Am sure any new product that enters any new market will face some kind of issues for sure.

[And as for the recall of cars by Honda (Jazz or City) the principle is that the production batch of the first fault car is called back so that if there is a probability that the others might face similar problems.
Atleast Honda fixes those issues without much hue and cry, whether it is bikes or cars.......the Honda portrays similar good image everywhere.

Even Toyota is one such gentle company when it comes to cars and which recalled several cars in the US, for some glitch and to get it moving correctly after the replacement.Recalling is like availing a free service, everything in that car would be reset to factory settings. It will feel like a new vehicle to ride again.

Think the chain that the discussion took was self explanatory. Ultimately many people will put their hard and not so hard earned money down for a CBR 250 on the basis of their belief that Honda engines are built to last and that you wont face troubles with it. Since its a Honda.

The bikes and cars comparison came up because they both are associated with the same company. It would be difficult to imagine a company totally focused on one aspect (performance / quality / safety / styling) for their 2 wheeler division and totally do the opposite for their 4 wheeler division. After all most people in India upgrade from 2 wheels to 4 and the last thing you want them to have is a negative perception about any of their products.

Wrt new products in a new market facing issues, I think companies spend a lot of money to ensure that that is precisely what should not happen. Customers have moved on from the chalta hai attitude of yore. I wouldnt want to buy a bike and find iffy switches and electricals or a car with a rattly glovebox.

The point people were trying to make is that yes Honda have been synonymous with quality for years but the company has had its share of complaints which people are probably not aware of. It will be a shame if a bike like the CBR which has so much potential is let down by poor quality.

So if delivery starts in April and you are getting it in june thats jus about 60-90 days that is like pretty good... And this amount of time is like seriously worth the wait.... cheers man...... congratulations...
Nah I booked the standard version, the on road price will be 1.8L +/- 10K

Well they guy told me that its very delicate and on the way even if they get a scratch or two then who will accept it? Damn I am paying them 1.8L and I get it with a scratch? WTF? So they said that we have to get the delivery for the Jhaveri Honda Storage Yard.

Well I dont agree with that guy, I am damn sure I wont get the bike before 2nd week of August because as he said that every outlet will get 45 bikes at a time and he showed me lots of bookings that they got so if people cancel then I may get it in June.

I will update this thread as soon as I get any intimation from them

                        • Fantastic news! Honda is surely a brand to reckon with.1800 bookings in just a month that to at a tempting price of under 2 lacs.

                          • I'd say the price could be lower since they are making it in India itself!

But good its not too low as I dont want to see CBRs like I see Pulsars on road

Even the P220 is common here in mumbai, every 10-15 mins you see one & I dont want this to happen with the CBR

                            • I guess there would be a thread next month saying "5000/6000+ booked in two months" ;-)

What hurts me reading most reviews from US is they calling it a beginner motorcycle.. and for us in India, its a delight for us who are looking for something more powerful..
You gotta risk it.. to get da biscuit !!!
