Hmm in that case if you remember what we all said about Ninja 250R hope that also comes trueOriginally posted by ttusharz View PostOh great, so this is the reason why they called us,
I mean to say few months back kawi & bajaj people called xBhpians from mumbai & pune to have a meet & discuss the reason why we booked honda cbr 250 r. At the end of discussion they gave us pics of kawasaki bikes & vote for the bike which we would love to see here on indian roads. Can you guys believe???
Most of us voted for ninja 650r & now here is this news.
I still remember Gopi's comments on KTM "It's a mad bike it speaks to you YOU SCR@#$% ME I WILL SCR@#%$ YOU"Originally posted by gsferrari View PostI think enough time has elapsed since the "event" happened so it should be ok to talk about it now. MG will cheerfully delete this post if he feels otherwise
Sometime last year a few of us were called to Chakan to test a few CBU bikes for Bajaj as part of a R&D exercise. MG called me up and gave me the coordinates. I also nominated Gopi (razorblades) to attend one of the sessions.
We tested the following bikes:
1. 650R (will be the ideal bike for India)
2. Z750 (my personal favorite)
3. ZX6R (awesome track tool)
4. 250R (underpowered in comparison with the other bikes on the day)
5. KTM 690 Duke (odd motard style handling which I didn't take to)

My personal vote will go to zx 6r. Ninja 650 may be more practical but who in india buys superbikes for practicality? I would like to own a cuttingedge supersports than a sportstourer. In looks also i cannot make out about ninja 650. Front looks great but as it goes rear the bulgin tank the rider & pillion seat section doesnt match the agressiveness of front , it looks odd. Again its my personal opinion, dont trash me for that seniors

What is very interesting is that ALL of these bikes are under 800CCs.... I wonder why!
May be the idea was to undercut the 1000 price tag.
PS: There was 'perhaps' an RC8 there too

^^^^the bikes undergo some changes. The ARAI permit the sale of GT650R &ST7 only after the replacement of some parts with accordance to indian standards.this info was given by the hyosung dealer of Goa.I had a conversation with him on FB.Let's hope japs also bring their 600's here...[/SIGPIC]PULSATING 22o

Its a very simple thing. Any bike below 800cc has to launch the way every other Indian bike is launched i.e the whole bike have to go through the ARAI process including all the components separately. Its a tedious process and takes a lot of effort and the reason why other Japs are not taking that way. Too much of work for too little sale.Originally posted by Nilhawk View Posti also wonder how bajaj & hyosung r bringing below 800cc models as we know there is that 800cc import rule. And if they are bringing some how then what happened to other companies. Can anyone through a light on that?

Any new about Ninja 650R , Is it under homologation or still bajaj is planning , Bajaj people if you are watching this thread then launch the Ninja 650R as soon as possible. Are you guys waiting for GT650R to eat out your prospective customer.
GT650R is in for me ,just waiting to have a look at ninja 650R in flesh.
I am not very much impressed with the build quality of GT650R , I have revved it 3000-4000 rpm and there was considerable vibration ,even at idle the vibration are comparable to bullets .
I guess kawasaki would be a good bet So waiting waiting.
Guys any confirmed news from bajaj about ninja 650RLast edited by pp180; 04-26-2011, 02:54 PM.
