this is the right time to bring bigger ninja...........maybe they deliberately delayed its launch to see the price of GT650r and then launch with correct pricing.

ninja 250r is Rs.185000($4000) in US + 50% Rs 90000= Rs 275000 ex-delhi, it is sourced from Thailand with which India has FTA.
      by the same logic
      ninja 650r is Rs.331000($7200) in US + 50% Rs 165000= Rs 496000 in India
although the new CKD policy might make it dearer by Rs 60000(20% of Rs 331000). So it is upto Kawasaki to take the fight right upto Hyusung and not keep a premium over them.

Please put up the correct price and then use the conversion rate..

The Indian N250 is the UK FI version, so use that same rate. then the figures will be different.

Good point. yes the 250 in India is the FI version vs the carb version in the US, which I only took as a base, but there should be no difference in 650r. for comparison:
          UK prices:
ninja 250 @4550gbp *rs73= rs330000 which is similar to the price in India onroad
          by this logic
er 6f/650r @6000gbp * rs73= rs438000 should be around the price in India which dosen't add up.
It depends on the prices in Thailand, the duty which is levied due to the FTA, etc. Can someone throw some light on this.

yaar bajaj auto is broke my heart. ninja 650r looks bad , odd style statement.
            i have a ninja 250r . i am waiting for the zx-6r . really i m shocked .
near future i will not be kawasaki customer. bajaj auto must think about it.
if they will launch the zx-6r and ninja 650r both in same timeframe , it will be rocking.

              Wow!!

Now thats some news. The market is booming up it seems. Just one query to all, any chance of I4's hitting here soon? It would be great if the japs bring in the I4 600s now.

                Hi Guys,
Thank God i just didn't booked GT650R ,Now surely check the bigger Ninja.

Also I would be not be surprised if bajaj launch the Ninja650R after 8-10 months, From bajaj reputation i guess they are just holding GT650R customers to wait for Bigger Ninja bacause.

1.The guys who have made up there mind for Ninja650R will never go for GT650R.(Bajaj not targeting these customers)
2.The guys Who don't want to spend so much ( more than 2-3 lac) on Bike won't buy it , No matter which bike you launch they will not buy it.(Bajaj not targeting these customers)
3.Guy who can spend 10-13 lac will surely buy full blown superbike like R1 etc, they will not buy GT650R.

                Now

A Guy Who has made up his mind for GT650R (Like myself) will surely wait for Ninja 650R knowing kawasaki reputation in international market ( as compared to hyosung ) and Bajaj after sale service network.

This is the chunk of customers that bajaj is targeting with the teaser.
I hope they lauch it with 2-3 months and with aggressive price of below 6 lac on road.

I have also done some calculation for Ninja650R prices and I don't see any reason why we can't get it under 6 lac (on road price).

                As per calculation.
                Ninja 250r
                In US : 4000$
                at 1 $ = 45 INR as exchange rate
                it is 180000 INR

In india : 3.08 lacs on road

So in india NINJA 250r is ( cost in US + 60% extra )

So the expected price of KAWASAKI bikes should be

                Ninja 650r : 7200 $
at 1$ = 45 INR as exchange rate
                it is 324000 INR

In India : It should be 324000+ 60% extra (194400) = 518000 (approx) on road

I understand 5.18 lac is an unrealistic figure looking at the GT650R price but sub 6 lac surely seems possible if Bajaj don't take a large premium from it's customers

Please guys explain if you think that sub 6 lac on road is not possible for bigger Ninja.

I don't know what will be the price.

But, if they actually keep it above 6 Lacs on road, then they lost atleast one customer already. My saved up money from property deals, doesn't amount to more than 6L. Even if it does, don't I have to spare some for fuel, service, etc.?

I hope Bajaj will price the bigger Ninja correctly, otherwise its GT650R for me, even if I don't like the GT one bit.

Even logically, people won't pay more than 30-40k extra over GT for presence of ABS and slightly better looks (subjectively) and nothing more.

Damn, Companies won't full-produce here & government won't reduce duties, only the customer suffers due to all this...!

good thoughts. but i have one doubt the 60% extra for N250R will be same for the N650R??? I mean does the difference in price of both bikes changes that extra percentage?
Sorry if its silly, pardon me

                      As a slight OT:

Kawasaki also makes the Ninja 400R. Looks-wise it is similar to the 650R.

Power is ~44 hp, 37 NM torque.

Bajaj has always mentioned about the Ninja 250 being priced on par with the UK price.
                        Which is why the 4549GBP N250r is priced @73Rs - 3.32Lakh OTR
So the ER6F should be priced by the same rate

If Bajaj can pull off that price, RIP Garware. A small dent to Honda, and Heres my cheque!

But seriously, I doubt why they cant price it in the same manner! It would give a small dent to the cbr and a few 'other' launches too!

But i suggest bajaj should not price it the way they did for Ninja!!!

The Ninja650 one should be less....For comparison we do have Hyosung...but is that perfect one.....nope! not even a bit!!

So if the Ninja650 cost less.....Garware would be RIP no doubts.....But then Honda would make its move.......
