  • Competing with Hyosung GT650R with a 400cc doesn't make any sense. So it is a Ninja 650R. The ads have always been misleading. Bajaj ads have the 220 with inline four sound!

Its good as long as they showed a pic of the Ninja and not any other bike.

    • Don't read too much into the grab rail thing - the 650R has a cover in the tail panel which can be removed and the grab rail can be inserted. A close up picture of the 650R tail portion which I took:

i have always been a bog fan of the R6...i have olways been a yamaha fan and dunno y but i love R6 the most....its my DREAM BIKE (yes it is and not R1)

so any news of yamaha coming with something in that segment....R6 or even FZ6r(the detuned R6 with GSXR like styling)

I dont get one thing here, if they can launch a 650CC twin, then why not a 600CC inline 4 ?
Why it's not as simple as that ?

Still a ninja 650R for almost 6.8-7.00 onroad will not arouse my fingers to write my name on cheque.
It's a tourer, and for almost a lakh less i can get that badass matt black Harley, and its a tourer too !

It doesn't come with SOLD & RELIABLE Japanese engineering!

Read up the ownership reports on international forums for the 650R, they just go on an on without a hitch!

Yamaha didn't launched any India made bike above 150cc category till now ...so forget about a 600cc from Yamaha....first let it launch a proper 250 cc Bike...

Kudos to Kawasaki They are doing great Job...

How about adding 1.8-2.0 more and getting that exotic V-twin that has DUCATI written on Tank ! .
i heard you dont even need an aftermarket endcan for it, as it sounds BRUTAL.
The moment you're crossing 6.5 lakh mark, you're in super confusion, and at the back of your mind you're still thinking about waiting for those 600CC's in four cylinders !

6.5 lakh for 2 wheels is a good amount of money, and one surely wants to invest it in a bike that one always wanted.
I just dont want to settle for an 'option'.

                • Both bikes look identical in all respects (side-on) other than these 2! So either they have messed up the bike so that we get confused, or are really blending parts of both the bikes for the Indian market.
I really wonder what Kawasaki India & Bajaj are upto!!
They are blending parts. Come on guys, how can one release a 650R without grabrails and a small rear number plate?
Its going to be a 650 only, albeit with 400's grab rail and rear number plate to match the Indian Homologation Process' requirements, I think.

Mr. Vas was clear about 650R, but he (or anyone?) never mentioned anything about a 400R.

Come on guys, The Great Theory of Parts sharing was developed by Bajaj only. Fit Grab rails from 220 onto 180, fit rear sets from 180 to 220, etc, etc.

                  -
@ MG: Bro, you can be a bit more explanatory in your post, where you asserted that its 650R. Frankly speaking, even I'm confused as to why they put 400R on the site?

Ditto every word to that. Experiencing the deep bassy sound itself makes one go weak on knees. This is something etheral. I would wait till an I4 600 bike comes here. And it not necessarily be a proper race bred, rather upright handle bars, a conservative 80-100bhp with rear grab rails is what I feel the bike which we need most.

                        Thanks,

And it is not something impossible. We are made to think they are because of our government laws, and because of our manufacturers' lobbying.

                          • Folks@ Chill the bike we are talking about IS the 650R.
Didnt GS mentioned having ridden the bike and tested it for Bajaj?

The 400R would be a nice bike if launched, but a disaster for bajaj considering it want to price the new pulsars, KTM at a healthy margin as well!

                            650R it IS!

and STOP ranting about how an I4 is better than a vtwin or a vfour! Each has its own benefits, its own customer base, and its own fanboys! Nitro-melya-inline4-pojher! stop confusing people! I want a 3 cylinder bike! Can any make it here? a BIG fat NO!

Ok fine. But since the tourer kind are getting their share, the cruiser kind are getting there share even the off roaders will get it, why not the supersport fans?

                                - The R1
                                - The Busa
                                - The Gixxer
                                - The CBR

Aur kitna chaiye! I4 lena hain toh 1000 lo, gareeb logo ke liye vtwin ltwin ptwin chod do

Jokes apart, the 650 would be an ideal stepping stone to realize that there is a HUGE market in that 4-8L bracket.. so whatever bikes can be brought in that range, I4 or not will sell man! Atleast pehla step toh lene de
