Thanks a ton... So I take a left from the first signal right...? Or do I have to take a left when the road becomes a "noentry" below the next flyover... Is it near Hardrock Cafe and Shiros or the peninsula tower...?Originally posted by melroyal View PostShop No 6,Shilip Tower,B.P Marg,Near Deepak Cinema,Opp.Union Bank of India. Lower Parel(W)

Any bike above 800cc comes in the original trim and don't need pass through any regulation and hence you see those numbers 200hp, 180hp.Originally posted by j4zb4 View PostBut why is a detune required by the Indian government... Sounds like a dumb thing to do... When you have sbks with over 200 hp why detune a 80 hp engine to 70...? Does it make sense to any1?
But the equation completely changes for anything less than 800cc, each and every part needs to pass through ARAI process and since Indian regulation are more stringent than most of the other countries one see those cuts in bhp

Is there anyway to retune it to original standards after we get the bike...?

They are into motorcycles for the first time. You seriously think they can fix this issue?Originally posted by nitrosatya View PostBut the vibrations after 6k rpm are quite a lot. I wanted to leave my hand. I hit 140 in 3rd gear. In my opinion the bike is good below 6k rpm. Above which it feels unpleasant.
We told this to Mrs. Diya Garware-Ibanez. And she assured us that this matter is looked in into and they are trying to find a solution for that.
A bike which red lines at 10k and has unpleasant vibes after 6k , how much usable is that power then ?
If you didnt feel the vibes then I feel your review is a very poor one. Or you rode some other bike not the GT650Originally posted by rossi_god View PostSurprisingly, i felt the other way round. I've taken the bike to 174 and beyond 150kph, all i could feel was wind and speed. Could not even figure out the vibes at such high speeds.sigpicThe Moto Cafe - India's first bike theme cafe @ Chandni Chowk

All V twins have vibes compared to inline but there are ways to keep minimal vibes to reach rider.
Ninja 650R is a parallel twin so hopefully vibes are lesser than a v-twin and also in there 2009 model they are done some work to reduce the vibes (or not to reach the rider)
OT : how is a parallel engine configuration different from inline engines and
Which is the cheapest inline 4 we can get in India .

it's unlikely that it'll have the kinda vibes being talked about on the GT650R tho.Originally posted by melroyal View PostEven the Ninja 650R has a fair bit of vibes.
the "cheapest" officially available inline four in india is the Suzuki Bandit 1250.Originally posted by pp180 View PostWhich is the cheapest inline 4 we can get in India .
or you can always get a second hand CBR400RR for under 2.5 lac and smoke everything below 650cc from here to kingdom come.

Melroy: Agreed that V's have vibes but the manufactures try to dampen them using different methods, it seems here it is not even tried.Originally posted by melroyal View PostDiya Garware Ibanez says that she will look into the matter of "vibration" is more of PR stuff.
Even the Ninja 650R has a fair bit of vibes. You cannot totally rule out vibration from a Twin Cylinder bike unless its a inline4.
Try and get a ride of the same for at least a span of 5-6 KMS and then you can see what people here are talking about.

Yes all vTwins have vibes, but then some people love\live-with them too... strangely not many complained on the international forums, but it seems some what 'exagerated' in this Indian iteration with the machine!
Like MG said, may be they phucked up! Who knows!

WTH.... most of the ppl here who are poking abt the vibs never ridden the bike .. they just got these from some online forums and try to put it with some extra ..Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostOT: The CB1000 is the cheapest i4

as Satyen said .. in the whole internet forums i didn;t find most of the ppl cribbing about vibs .. except some magazine reviews ... it seems like most of the vibs can be nullified by proper assembly of the bike and remaining some with new tech ..
Ppl should see how much vibs u get from MT-01 when it starts [later its ease out]... all the big engines will have considerable vibs
