it's also not nice for Hyosung to price the GT650R at it's current pricing.

it IS overpriced. (you own a N250R. you know Kawasaki's fit n finish.)
(i'm hoping you've seen the GT650 in the flesh.)

Hyosung (for right now) can only dream of competing with Kawasaki in quality.

and Garware pricing the 650 at what it is right now...
is them being way too cocky.
why? coz there aren't any real choices for buyers... yet.

The GT650R will sell at it's current pricing... sure.

    but it's not worth it's (current) price-tag.

Agreed. If we have substantial information to base our "argument" then lets do it objectively.

Example - quality of plastics are way better on the ninja than on the hyosung so i wonder why hyosung is charging a premium or how did they arrive at the pricing, etc.

This instead of just saying, hyosung is a dead duck with the ninja's killer sword.

      • mostly none are as intelligent or as informative as people here--

a real life scene where a GT650 & a ninja 650 standing together -- almost all people enquired about the GT while many dismissing the n650 as modded up version of n250 else not noticing it at all

height is when 2 people actually went & confirmed booking the GT at pune showroom -- so see where this will go

& again a difference of some thousands for what is offers is also ok.

Blame the stacked headlight styling of the Hyosung. People will inevitably compare it to the Busa because of Dhoom. "Badhiya dikhti hain yaar! Dhoom bike lagti hain"

And the split headlight design of the Ninja 650R will be compared to the R15. And the general poser public has already detested R15.

And after they hear the sound, it will be end of the debate.

            • Can someone name this the Ninja 650 vs the Gt650 thread!

Reminds me of a old joke! Where a man gives 1000Rs to each of the women he is dating..
One saves it for long term
              One invests it thier future
              One uses it for shopping
One uses it for calculated speculation and makes a million out of it

Guess whom the man marries finally?

The Answer to the question is very similar to the TA's choice of a 'better' bike

              • Exactly!!! So no matter what we select few so called enthusiasts debate on what is a better bike, people will (atleast initially) buy what is a better looker.
That surprises me why the Ninja comes in ONLY one colour!

But then an educated tourer will not even look at the Hyosung with the Ninjas pricing... and he is the ideal customer to have as
                1) He will stay alive with the bike
                2) He will 'show it off' to a more matured market
                3) He will be happy with his choice

Similarly there will be a market for the GT too... it may not be a tourers segment but a enthu 'sports bike' fetish segment!

But a little time down the line with garwares initial teething issues I think Kawasaki will inch ahead!

It is very funny that you thought only an engine makes it a tourer bike. It has more to do with the ergonomics of the bike(seating posture/comfort for long drive) etc. It's a fact that avenger also is a cruiser(may be mini ), even though it uses the same engine of a P220.

Can't enjoy yet.. still waiting for the delivery.. not sure when i'll get it.. just heard the sound of it... loved it!!! damn..

                          • GT650R is not a Super-sports bike.It is a middle weight sports tourer.

                            Bikes in this category are:
Ninja 650R from Kawasaki, not ZX6R
Fazer 600 from Yamaha, not R6
                            CBR600F from Honda, not CBR600RR

These bikes are not to be confused with Super-sports bikes like GSXR600 or Triumph Daytona 675.Super-sports bikes are more track focused bikes with oodles of power(usually more than 110bhp) in the high rev range and costlier price tag.

The GT650R category should not be confused with the naked middle-weights either like:
                            Suzuki Gladius,GSR600,GSR750
                            Yamaha Diversion F and FZ6
                            Honda Hornet 600F and CBF600
                            Kawaski ER6n
All these bikes are similar in performance to the GT650R but they lack the nice fairing which is looked up in case of Focused touring.

So, now every bike fits a category of itself and we cannot argue with each other over its characteristics.People buy what they love, nothing to argue about.

The most exciting news of now is that our own Sunny(Xbhp supremo) bhaiya has got himself a GT650R !!!

Just checked his Facebook page and got confirmed
