Thanks. I also thought of it first that it has to be related to FI system but didn't know that it is a warning light. Asked the person at Probiker, but he said he is not ware of it, but since now you have mentioned that it is also available for 250 model, I wonder how come he is not aware of it. The main purpose of this type of exhaust is to reduce unsprung weight. Underseat and normal exhausts are quite bulky and because of their greater length weigh more. Also chances of burning your leg or other vital body parts is much higher for those exhausts.
Hence now a days, many bikes come with this type of exhaust.
Replacing exhaust for higher performance is a very old game. IMO, the increased power due to replacement exhaust is not justifiable for the price paid. Unless your skill levels are in top 98 percentile, you will be hard pressed to derive any benefit out of it.
I know many would be fuming at my next statement. --> Mainly what the replacement exhausts do is generate more noise; thereby attracting more attention to rider. May be there is more to it...I read in a review that "...Ejecting the spent gases into a unique centrally located exhaust system that lives under the engine, there is a three-way catalyzer tucked away in there for clean living. Affording the Ninja 650 a very clean look from the rear, it seems this location is becoming more and more popular in the two-wheeled world, a good number of year’s after Eric Buell first used the system". Not sure abt three-way catalyzer in this version.Comment
