+1. The 250R is a scorcher on track and not all that comfy for long rides.... more so with a pillion.

@ aargee - If you want a adequately powered tourer and one that can take 2 people then its the 650R... For short trips, quick bursts and great fun on the track, the 250R it is.

Pricewise, it might look like there is not much difference in both considering the cubic capacity / engine sizes but the application and nature of the bikes are totally different. Indian's are programmed to think in the former so

Nah !!! He'll be more interested in the face lifted R15. Anyway we'll decide once he's back and rides out more often with us.

              • Some Snaps...Part I

                Hi,

I had a look at this beauty at the Bund Garden road showroom in Pune. The photos are as attached.
Unfortunately I clicked it on mobile but decent snaps..at least for now. Bike looks neat not bulky as GT650. Can somebody explain about that exhaust? Also on the instrumental panel on the right there is indicator for FI what does that mean?
                Regards,
                Abhijit

Awesome pricing and a great touring package. Great introuction by Bajaj-Kawa, they have been the most pro-active of the lot and just hope that more follow on their lines in the coming days.
Opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one. And most of them are full of shit.

Even the parallel twin cylinders of the Ninja 250R doesn't provide that kind of "Vroom Vroom". The Ninja 650R is also a parallel twin cylinder model, but it has got a unique firing sequence for its two cylinders which gives it a "Throbbing" exhaust note.

If you are looking for a "Vroom Vroom" exhaust note, then you'll be dissappointed.

Thank you very much for the feedback.
I was not aware of this. Now its high time to scratch my head to go for one. I will keep posted on this whether GT650R or the Ninja 650R or CBR250.....

One more bike to dream at!

There was guy at Hyderabad Probiking who said (around April 2010) that 650R will be launched in 2011 and he showed a presentation on it too. He is so right.
