Triumph coming to Karnataka | News | Autocar India
Iconic British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Karnataka state government. According to our sources, Triumph has been allotted 30-40 acres of land at Narsapura, Karnataka to build an assembly plant which will commence production in the near future. The site holds strategic importance since it is situated near the port, where there is a growing congregation of auto and auto ancillary units.
Triumph has committed to an investment of Rs 400 crore to the state to set up the new plant and other operations. The state government is currently formulating tax-related as well as other benefits for the company. Triumph has already unveiled a seven-motorcycle-strong model line-up for India, announcing sensible indicative prices for these motorcycles during the Auto Expo in January 2012, ranging from the classic Bonneville to their massive Rocket III Roadster.

Got an email from Triumph UK ....
*Sigh* I guess the prices would be higher than those earlier shown on their site!Thanks for your email and interest in Triumph Motorcycles. We are currently working on dealer appointments, the range line up and pricing for India which will be the subject of further announcements closer to the time of our launch which we expect to be early in 2013._________________________

The only bright side to this whole issue may be the very real possibility of Triumph now introducing the all new Daytona for 2013, which it is reportedly testing. The wait continues for a good mid size super sport bike

As the 2012 Ninja 650 has been launched , I was trying to assess the launch price and date for Daytona 675.
Daytona 675 was expected at price of 7 lac ex-showroom but it doesn't look logically feasible to me know.
Price of daytona is 8,599 British pounds Sulfur Yellow Triumph Daytona 675 Highlights New 2012 Colors - Motorcycle.com News | Motorcycle.com News that equates to 7.39 lac INR approx.Now adding 30% extra (duty etc ) to it which makes it 9.58 lac approx.
How can they launch daytona 675 at 7 lac ex showroom price.
At more than 9 lacs INR it's out of reach for people who were expecting it at 8 lacs.
I have to again look at the Ninja as an alternate

Normally the prices on the UK websites are OTR prices unlike the USA... So with your comparison I can safely expect the Daytona to be OTR 7.5 lakhs Mumbai...
